Apex Legends’ next update is almost here and Respawn Entertainment has finally confirmed Apex Legends Catalyst abilities with us. We know they were half-leaked ahead of time, but now we have official names and descriptions, which is always fun. Along with Apex Legends’ new map, Broken Moon, there’s a lot to look forward to when it comes to this new legend.
For example, Apex Legends’ devs want Catalyst to appeal to every playstyle – giving her a balanced kit that should excel in both aggressive and defensive combat encounters. Apex Legends’ Catalyst is also Seer’s nightmare – and not just because she doesn’t agree with the Apex Games coming to Boreas’ moon.
What are all the Apex Legends Catalyst abilities?
Catalyst’s abilities in Apex Legends are as follows, as confirmed by EA:
- Passive ability: Barricade – Reinforce doors, strengthening them and locking them to enemies. Spaces where doors have been destroyed can also be reinforced.
- Tactical ability: Piercing Spikes – Throw out a patch of ferrofluid which turns into spikes when enemies are near. Catalyst remains immune to enemy spikes.
- Ultimate ability: Dark Veil – Raise a permeable wall of ferrofluid. Enemies who walk through it will be slowed and partially blinded for a brief time.

Apex Legends Catalyst abilities and the hero herself will be added when the Apex Legends season 15 release date arrives. She is aimed to be a terraformer coming after Gibraltar, so that makes us wonder where she might land on the Apex Legends tier list.
