March signalled yet another impressive month for new additions to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass as the subscription service continues to bolster its library of games. As we did in January and February, The Loadout has crunched the numbers on last month’s offerings, and found that 15 unique new games were added to the service, which have a collective value of $440.85 (roughly £335).
Of the 15 brand new games added to either Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, or both in March 2022, an impressive ten of them were day one releases. This includes the highly-anticipated Tunic and Shredders.
There were also day one releases for the console ports of Crusader Kings III (which we thought was an excellent addition for console players in our review) and Tainted Grail: Conquest, however these two titles are omitted from our calculations as they were already playable on PC Game Pass. If you do include these console ports, however, then March’s value would rise to just under $510.
March also added one of last year’s top single-player games in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and F1 2021 also hit the service as part of EA Play.
As is always the case, though, Game Pass will also remove games from its service each month too. Eight games were removed in March, including Nier: Automata and Shadow Warrior 2. The total value of the removals comes to just shy of $200, but it’s worth noting that Madden NFL 2020 and Titanfall are both discontinued from the Xbox store so values for these were unobtainable.
With January adding around $490 of value, February adding roughly $420 of value, and now March coming in with a figure of $440, the overall value of unique new games added in 2022 has exceeded $1,300. With a Game Pass Ultimate membership costing just $15 a month, you can see why it’s one of the best deals in gaming.

This month we did learn that Game Pass would be getting a more worthy adversary from its rival platform as Sony revealed plans for its relaunch of PS Plus, so it will be interesting to compare the values of both subscription services when it rolls out this summer.
