Lace up your cleats, Xbox Game Pass is adding Madden 24 this month

Three new Xbox Game Pass headliners are heading to the service this month, and they’ll have you serving up assists, food, and lead.

Xbox Game Pass February 2024 second drop: a Madden 24 player in a red jersey

February 6, 2024 Xbox has now officially confirmed its second drop for February. This article has now been updated to reflect that.

The Xbox Game Pass additions for the second February drop have been confirmed by Xbox. With big-hitters like Madden 24, Plate Up!, and the Resident Evil 3 Remake all on the cards, Xbox is serving up plenty of heat this time around.

Kicking off with Madden 24, this year’s entry into the long-running series has taken a much more conservative approach to its gameplay tweaks. In our Madden 24 review, we praise the iterative improvements to its FieldSENSE system and Franchise mode, but remain disappointed that EA Sports hasn’t done more to improve on last year’s game.

Nonetheless, the Madden games remain some of the best sports games around, and Madden 24 is currently the best way to enjoy football on console.

Next up is Plate Up! If you’ve ever wanted to reenact ‘The Bear’, or simply go nuclear on your friends like a certain sweary British chef, then this is the game to do it in – with love, of course. Though it looks eerily similar to the Overcooked! series, Plate Up! has switched up the recipe slightly by incorporating roguelite elements. In Plate Up! you’re not just chefs, but servers and cleaners too, as you all work together to keep your restaurant running smoothly. It’s one of the best party games out there, and soon it’ll be one of the best Xbox Game Pass games, too.

Finally, we have 2020’s Resident Evil 3 Remake. If you haven’t come face to face with the terrifying Nemesis yet then you should count your lucky S.T.A.R.S. However, it could be time for that to change as Capcom’s reimagining of the 1999 classic is poised to join the list of Xbox Game Pass games this month. Though it only managed to score 79 on Metacritic – a lower average than many of the other games in the iconic series – don’t let that put you off. It’s an excellent remake that deserves to be held up alongside other modern reimaginings of classic Resi games.

While these are our highlights from the freshly announced selection, there are plenty more great games on the list. The full list, as well as the dates you can expect each game to arrive on Game Pass, is as follows:

  • Anuchard (Cloud, Console, and PC) – Today
  • Train Sim World 4 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – February 7
  • Madden 24 (Console and PC) – February 8
  • Resident Evil 3 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – February 13
  • A Little To The Left (Cloud, Console, and PC) – February 14
  • Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (Cloud, Console, and PC) – February 14
  • PlateUp! (Cloud, Console, and PC) – February 15
  • Return to Grace (Cloud, Console, and PC) – February 20

Be sure to check out the Xbox Wire article for more on this month’s Game Pass DLC and Ultimate perks. The games set to leave the service on February 15 are Galactic Civilizations 3 (PC) and Opus: Echo of Starsong (Cloud, Console, and PC), so make sure you get your hours in before they’re gone for good.

The big question mark in this list, particularly if you’re also on PlayStation, hangs over Resi 3. Last month the Resident Evil 2 remake came to both PS5 and Xbox, which perhaps indicates Capcom has a similar plan for Jill and Carlos’s Raccoon City ramblings. Though we already know what February’s PS Plus line-up looks like, Resi 3 could slot quite nicely into March’s selection.

But that’s enough PlayStation talk, and if you want to get up to date with the latest Xbox news then check out the latest Xbox exclusives that are rumored to go multi-platform, including Gears of War, Indiana Jones, and more.
