With less than 30 days left in The Finals Season 2, there’s still plenty of time to net yourself some gnarly rewards in Embark’s game show shooter. PS5 and Xbox players can dive into the new The Finals community event right now, which promises an exclusive reward for participating. However, you’ll need to make every bullet count, as Embark challenges the game’s community to decimate 7 million players.
If you need a break from burying 2 billion Automatons in co-op game hit Helldivers 2, then the good news is that The Finals’ recently-launched community challenge should be easier to complete. In a fresh post on the thrilling FPS game’s Discord server, Embark says “we’re heading into the last week of Terminal Attack and in order to send it off with a BANG we’re challenging all of you to Eliminate 7 MILLION contestants in Terminal Attack in the coming week.”
Piece of cake, right? I certainly think so, and it’s the perfect time to scoop up all those Terminal Attack rewards before they’re gone, too. For your time spent defeating contestants around SYS$HORIZON, PS5 and Xbox players will be rewarded with a community event-exclusive cosmetic to equip across any of The Finals classes. “Should you succeed, everyone who helped out gets a pair of pink canvas shoes to complement your cute-mmunity look.”
It’s another compliment to the game’s already superb drip, especially if you’ve already earned similarly-colorful rewards from the Easter event. I’m personally looking forward to some more additions to the game’s customization suite, like big ole’ bushy beards, but Embark appears to be saving those for Season 3. However, if you’re growing a little tired of the current theme for reward cosmetics, the studio hears you.
“We’re also looking to change up the theme of the Community Event rewards, and we might be saying goodbye to the pink theme quite soon (you’re all starting to build quite a collection of these items by now),” Embark clarifies. Furthermore, a change I’m happy to see implemented is the ability to track community events in-game. Circuit Challenges, like the new Masters Circuit, and daily objectives, can be tracked currently, but seeing the progress of this event is a nice reminder to keep on track.
At the time of writing, only 5% of the event’s goal has been achieved, with 377,697 eliminations recorded according to Embark’s own tracker.
However, you could be distracted from earning these rewards in the near future. That’s because Ubisoft’s long-awaited free-to-play shooter XDefiant is finally launching soon, but it’ll be missing an awesome mode at launch.
