At the end of the year approaches, that means the array of PS Plus Black Friday deals are starting to arrive. Whether you’re after some new PS5 games or cheaper additions to your PS5 library, you can normally count on PS Plus to supply the goods. However, if you’re keen to renew your membership at a discounted rate, it looks like disappointment is all you will find.
We’re all looking for the best Black Friday deals, and it looks like Sony is jumping the gun on some of its forthcoming PS Plus discounts. PlayStation Spain is already showing off what deals are on the way, including the reveal that PS Plus Black Friday “will begin on November 14 and will continue until November 27 at regular points of sale and PlayStation Direct.” Some of the best PS5 games are amid the mix, including Spider-Man Miles Morales, Returnal, and Death Stranding.
However, despite a multitude of new PS5 game discounts, information regarding whether PS Plus memberships will receive similar price reductions is not mentioned. Traditionally, PS Plus memberships are dropped in price, offering competitive price tags on 3 and 12 month memberships. While it still possible these will arrive with a wider rollout of PlayStation blog posts in different regions, is it still a concerning sign that they are absent here.
Following a disappointing selection of additions to PS Plus as of late, discounts to Extra and Premium membership tiers could be a winning move going forward. With Sony’s latest earnings report avoiding any information on PS Plus subscriber counts, it would be a missed opportunity to lure back players who have put their subscription on hold.
However, it is good news for those of you looking to pick up a PS5 console for your friends and family. The blog specifies that the “PlayStation 5 leads the Black Friday offers with a fantastic discount of €120 […] in addition, there will also be discounts on DualSense controllers of up to €25.” That’s around $130 off a standard PS5 model, not the slick looking PS5 Slim model, and $26 off the best PS5 controllers around.
Aside from playing all the free PS Plus games around, you can also expect discounts on the Uncharted collection, The Last of Us Part 1, Horizon Forbidden West, Demon’s Souls, and Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut. The latter is worth picking up especially, as we found that the Legends multiplayer mode is still tons of fun these days. We just want Sucker Punch Productions to announce a sequel, or better yet, let’s see the Infamous franchise makes a return on PS5 hardware.
Don’t forget to stay updated with our picks for the best Black Friday PlayStation deals as the special day draws closer, as you could grab some of the best PS5 accessories or one of the best PS5 headsets at a great price.
