Pokémon Unite best All-Rounders

Pokémon Unite has four excellent All-Rounders to choose from

Pokémon Unite pushes the franchise into League of Legends-inspired MOBA territory, with plenty of characters and abilities to master.

Developed by TiMi Studios, Pokémon Unite sees two teams of five battle it out over multiple control points across a map – while players can also rack up points by defeating wild Pokémon roaming the field. Despite Pokémon’s friendly appearance, there’s still a wealth of depth to the title, ranging from evolutions and varying character builds.

The 20 available characters at launch (including Zeraora who is available to players who login before 31 August) are split between five character classes: Attacker, Speedster, All-Rounder, Defender, and Supporter. To master Pokémon Unite, teams will have to pick a roster with complimentary play-styles and abilities, much like other MOBAs League of Legends and Dota. Here, we’ll break down the Unite moves and play-styles for characters in the All-Rounder class, which includes Charizard, Lucario, Machamp, and Garchomp. We’ll also rank our best All-Rounders.

Our friends at Pocket Tactics have a Pokémon Unite tier list featuring all 20 Pokémon, but for now here are our top picks in the All-Rounder category.

Best Pokémon Unite All-Rounder

Garchomp is the best Pokémon Unite All-Rounder. Our full rankings are below:

Rank Pokémon
1 Garchomp
2 Lucario
3 Charizard
4 Machamp

While Garchomp is certainly the best All-Rounder, it’s worth noting that Lucario, Charizard, and Machamp are all quite hard to separate and all four of these Pokémon are viable picks.

1) Garchomp

Difficulty: Intermediate

  • Offense: 3.5
  • Endurance: 3.5
  • Mobility: 2.5
  • Scoring: 2.5
  • Support: 0.5

Garchomp moves

Level 1-3

  • Bulldoze: Stomps on the ground, dealing damage to those in nearby area
  • Sand Attack: Narrows enemy field of vision and increases user’s movement speed and basic attack speed when it hits

Level 6

  • Dig: Goes underground and jumps out at an opponent, dealing damage and throwing them. Can also be used with Earthquake to widen the move’s area of effect
  • Dragon Claw: First attack deals damage and throws an opponent, while the second deals extra damage and increases user’s basic attack speed

Level 8

  • Earthquake: Jumps and crashes into the ground, dealing damage to those in the area of effect
  • Dragon Rush: Dives in a certain direction, shoving enemies

Unite move: Livid Outrage

Garchomp is all about swift, surprise attacks and is the best All-Rounder in Pokémon Unite. It has numerous ways to boost attack speed and can travel underground to cut distances between your opponent. Its Unite move, Livid Outrage, sees Garchomp enter a rage mode of sorts, delivering various attacks in quick succession to multiple opponents.

2) Lucario

Difficulty: Expert

  • Offense: 3
  • Endurance: 2.5
  • Mobility: 3.5
  • Scoring: 3
  • Support: 0.5

Lucario Moves

Level 1-3

  • Quick Attack: Lunges forward at high speed, dealing damage to anyone who crosses their path
  • Meteor Mash: A huge punch which deals damage and shoves enemies

Level 5

  • Extreme Speed: Charges forward, if it hits an enemy in sight the cooldown resets
  • Power-Up Punch: Charges and unleashes an attack which damages and shoves enemies. Turns the user’s next basic attack into a boosted attack

Level 7

  • Bone Rush: A combo attack which deals multiple hits and leaves them stunned for a short time
  • Close Combat: A combo attack which deals multiple hits and shoves enemies

Unite move: Aura Cannon

Lucario is a healthy mix of speed and attack power, with a range of moves geared mostly towards melee combat. The main outlier is its Unite Move, Aura Cannon, which sends out a huge blast which deals massive damage from a distance. Note that this is a pick for high-skill players, and you may want to avoid Lucario if you’re lacking experience.

3) Charizard

Difficulty: Novice

  • Offense: 3.5
  • Endurance: 3
  • Mobility: 2.5
  • Scoring: 3
  • Support: 0.5

Charizard moves

Level 1-3

  • Flame Burst: Damages and leaves enemies burned
  • Fire Spin: Encircles enemies in the area of effect in a swirling vortex of fire, deals damage over time and decreases movement speed for short time

Level 5

  • Flamethrower: Damages and leaves enemies burned
  • Fire Punch: Shoves enemies forward and leaves them burned

Level 7

  • Fire Blast: Deals damage over time while flames are on the ground, decreasing enemy movement speed for short time
  • Flare Blitz: Charges forward while covered in fire and throws enemies, while granting user a shield

Unite move: Seismic Slam

Charizard works well for causing damage across wide areas, with a range of attacks that inflict burn to damage foes over time. Its Unite move, Seismic Slam, grabs an enemy, launches up into the air, before slamming them into the ground for massive damage.

4) Machamp

Difficulty: Intermediate

  • Offense: 4
  • Endurance: 2.5
  • Mobility: 2.5
  • Scoring: 2.5
  • Support: 1

Machamp Moves

Level 1-3

  • Karate Chop: Attacks with a chop
  • Bulk Up: A buff where the user becomes immune to hindrances for a short time, boosts movement speed, attack power, and basic attack speed

Level 5

  • Close Combat: A series of punches, with the last punch dealing extra damage.
  • Cross Chop: A double chop attack while dashing forward, increases user’s critical hit rate

Level 7

  • Dynamic Punch: Jump to a designated location, dealing damage to enemies in the area of effect and leaving them stunned. User becomes immune to hindrances for short time, while attack movement speed and basic attack speed is increased, after its use
  • Submission: After its use, the next normal attack will slam an enemy on the ground behind Machamp and stun them. The user is also immune to hindrances for a short period, while their movement speed and basic attack speed is increased. For a short duration after the move, critical rate and attack speed is also increased

Unite move: Barrage Blow

Machamp is a close-quarters champion who can deal damage and protect itself in the heat of the scrum with various buffs. Its Unite move, Barrage Blow, sees Machamp rush forward and deliver a series of blows in a powerful combo attack. It might be vulnerable to ranged attacks, but up close, Machamp is a serious threat and it does feel harsh to put him at the bottom of our rankings.
