Player First Games’ free-to-play platform brawer MultiVersus hasn’t been out for long (in fact, it’s been a matter of days) but there’s already another major nerf on the horizon – and it’s not for who you think. We know fighting game fans all think the same thing about LeBron in MultiVersus, but it looks like Bugs Bunny is the next fighter facing a nerf.

In response to an unusually puzzled social media post about Bugs Bunny in MultiVersus, Player First Games’ co-founder and MultiVersus’ game director Tony Huynh confirmed that nerfs for the Looney Tunes character were coming after EVO this year – an annual fighting game championship that’s due to take place from August 5 to August 7. With Season 1 starting on August 8, we could see these changes made as early as then – the day after EVO 2022 concludes.

However, it’s important to note that, right now, we don’t know what the nerf for MultiVersus’ Bugs Bunny will look like. Huynh did also comment that “Bugs Bunny will always be fun” alongside the revelation that nerfs were planned, but whether this will be the case ultimately is another question altogether.

We know Bugs Bunny is quite high up on our MultiVersus tier list, and we’re sure the developers have their reasons, but we can’t help but think there are other characters that are currently more unbalanced. For example, Finn is one Assassin archetype character that has been heralded as the ‘next Taz’ with his whirlwind spin attack. If you’re not sure what we’re talking about, you can check out our MultiVersus Finn combos guide here and see for yourself.

Interestingly, though, the somewhat public announcement that Bugs Bunny is next on the chopping block comes just days after the MultiVersus Taz nerf has fighting game fans spinning him into memes – and Taz is still one of the best fighters in the game right now.

So, we don’t expect things to drastically change for Bugs when he gets nerfed – however, it does feel like Player First Games is doing a good job of making small but meaningful changes to its’ characters in this early open beta period to ensure that the game is as fair and balanced as it can be with so many moving parts.
