The Mortal Kombat 1 beta is set to take place in August 2023, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, which NetherRealm confirmed in an FAQ post for the game.

This will give players time to test out many features of the game and get to grips with the “reimagined” characters available in the game around a month before the full release. It’s currently unknown whether the Mortal Kombat 1 beta will feature any story mode content or online multiplayer. However, it’s possible that both multiplayer and single player story mode will feature, as both were available during the closed beta for the previous entry in the series.
