Midnight Suns’ Deadpool can’t be killed, if you play your cards right

Marvel's Merc with a Mouth is coming to Firaxis Games' Midnight Suns soon, and it looks like Deadpool is going to be as unkillable in-game as he is in canon.

Midnight Suns Deadpool passive can't kill: an image of the Marvel Comics hero from the RPG game

If there’s one thing you need to know about Marvel Comics’ Deadpool outside the fact that he usually swears quite a lot when he’s breaking the fourth wall, it’s the fact that he’s canonically invincible. His superhuman healing factor might be one of the most powerful there is – there’s one case of him even growing another head entirely. So, as you might imagine, this isn’t exactly the case when it comes to Firaxis Games’ tactical RPG Marvel’s Midnight Suns, of which Deadpool is the first post-launch DLC character. Hulk can be eliminated, for example, and Deadpool will be at risk too. However, if you quite-literally play your cards right, Midnight Suns’ Deadpool might just be unkillable.

Ahead of Wade Wilson’s addition to the list of Marvel’s Midnight Suns characters you can deploy in your war against Lilith and Hydra, Firaxis Games has partnered with content creator Christopher Odd for a Deadpool deep dive that delves into this character’s cards and what makes him unique in combat. Alongside his “En Fuego” meter, that builds when he KOs enemies, he has a passive named “Staying Alive”.

As the name suggests, this passive is going to keep Deadpool alive for a lot longer than he should be – if you can play your cards right, of course.

As you can see for yourself at around the 02:45 mark in the video below, the Staying Alive passive ability allows Deadpool to recover a select amount of health every turn; the value of this increased depending on how much En Fuego he has stacked.

So, as long as you make sure you’re taking care of weaker enemies with Deadpool and doing your best to taunt tougher enemies away from the Merc with a Mouth in the early stages of a battle, you might just find that he’s nigh-on unkillable in-game.

We know Midnight Suns’ Deadpool introduces a strange problem for future DLC characters, but being invincible wasn’t one of them. You have to wonder if he’s going to shoot up to become one of the best in the game when he drops on January 26.

If you want to prepare for his arrival, why not check out the best Midnight Suns Captain Marvel deck and build – alongside the best Midnight Suns Nico deck and build – right here. Alongside Wolverine and Captain America, as Odd suggests, we think these two characters will pair nicely with what Deadpool brings to the table.
