Metaphor ReFantazio is set to be one of 2024’s hottest properties, synthesizing the best of Persona and Shin Megami Tensei and plonking it in the fictional United Kingdom of Eucrhonia. Now, developer Atlus has announced that a brand-new Metaphor ReFantazio livestream for the upcoming PlayStation and Xbox game will air on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm BST – get it marked in your calendars.

Led by director Katsura Hashino, the 30-minute presentation promises “never before seen gameplay” – suffice to say, we’re in for a banger show. Atlus has already had a stellar 2024 so far with Persona 3 Reload going down a storm with critics and players alike. With both SMT 5: Vengeance and, later, Metaphor ReFantazio still to drop this year, the studio is again looking to flex its penchant for putting out some of the best RPG games around.

You’ll be able to catch the stream on the Atlus West YouTube channel here. Alternatively, the Metaphor ReFantazio Steam page will also be hosting the action.

So, exciting new Metaphor ReFantazio gameplay aside, what else can we expect from the upcoming livestream? Well, we so far only have a Fall 2024 release window for the game, so a concrete Metaphor ReFantazio release date is at the top of our wishlist. It’s perhaps a tad early to expect pre-orders to open up, so we reckon Atlus will be saving that for either the Xbox Showcase reportedly arriving in June, or elsewhere at Summer Game Fest.

Should Xbox add Metaphor ReFantazio to its potential showcase lineup, there’s a strong possibility we’ll finally get confirmation as to whether or not the game will be added to the Xbox Game Pass games list on day one. Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reload both dropped onto the service at launch, so it makes sense that Atlus’ other properties would do the same.
