The League of Legends midseason item rework is fast approaching, with the full suite of changes finally hitting the PBE. On top of major tweaks to existing items, developer Riot Games is bringing in new items, as well as bringing back old faces. Marksman itemisation has once again been completely shaken up as part of the rework, and players have already highlighted a couple of champions that could become totally busted.
Discussing the changelist over on the League of Legends subreddit, the new Mythic form of Guinsoo’s Rageblade has been marked as an item to watch. Having had its original passive returned to it, granting stacking attack speed and double procs of on-hit effects every three attacks, champions which have traditionally synergized well with the item like Kai’Sa and Kog’Maw could shuttle to the top of the tier lists.
But Rageblade isn’t the only big change which has gotten players quaking in their Ionian boots. Over in assassin land, Duskblade has lost its stealth-granting passive… in return for untargetability. Granted, the new effect is on a ten second cooldown, but it’s still threatening enough to make the hairs on ADC players’ necks stand on end.
In the additions aisle, we have a new Mythic in the form of Echoes of Helia. League boomers may recognise it as a revamped version of Athene’s Unholy Grail, which was removed from the game at the end of Season 10.
While we won’t be seeing the changes hit live servers until after LoL MSI, they are likely to completely transform the game’s meta by the time we arrive at LoL Worlds. Needless to say, your LoL ranked games are about to get a big switch up. So be sure to swot up on the patch notes when they eventually drop.
