Honkai Star Rail 2.1 blesses you with more space for your trash Relics

According to a new leak from the Honkai Star Rail 2.1 beta, you’ll be able to store 33% more Relics in the upcoming version on PS5.

Honkai Star Rail 2.1 Relic inventory upgrade: Sparkle, a girl with dark hair and red eyes next to a selection of Relics

It’s been a long time coming, Honkai Star Rail 2.1 is finally set to increase the number of Relics you can keep in your inventory when it arrives on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. According to renowned leaker ‘Dim’, the current beta cycle for the hit PS5 RPG has increased the limit from 1,500 to 2,000.

Relic hoarding is almost inevitable in Honkai Star Rail. Whether you can’t be bothered to appraise promising five-star pieces as they roll in, or are too scared to salvage an otherwise garbage piece in case it one day becomes good, maintaining bag space quickly becomes a struggle in the RPG game.

The space game’s newest character, Sparkle, is the perfect example to illustrate this conundrum. The Honkai Star Rail Sparkle build recommends the Messenger Traversing Hackerspace set – a support-based set. However, Sparkle scales with Crit Damage – a stat you’d never typically desire to roll for on supports when assembling the best Honkai Star Rail team comps. ‘But Bronya,’ you say – we know, but what we’re trying to illustrate here is that HoYo loves to release characters that rely on atypical set/stat combinations.

Because of this, it’s easy to start hoarding Relics that could possibly be useful one day. Before you know it, you’ve got 1,500 potential bangers nestled in your bag – we’re not sure Mary Poppins would have that kind of capacity in hers.

Honkai Star Rail 2.0 did bring with it some amazing quality-of-life changes for taking out the trash, including the ability to quickly mark sub-par pieces as you farm them to discard later. This is great for noting you should get rid of that Genius of Brilliant Stars DEF% body that’s totally never going to have any sort of use…

At the very least, should Dim’s leak materialize, we’ll be able to put off the uncomfortable task of blitzing our bag for a little while longer. A 33% increase in Relic storage space is a huge win for late-game players in particular, and one we’re very excited about. Of course, 2.1’s still in beta and this could be subject to change, but we’re quietly confident it’ll live to see the light of day.
