Here’s what Harry Potter could look like in Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy marks the start of a new Wizarding World journey, and Potterheads have conjured up what Harry Potter could look in the magical prequel RPG.

Hogwarts Legacy explores the beloved Harry Potter castle, years before the boy who lived would roam its halls. Though the upcoming Avalanche Studios game is a prequel, some Potterheads are wondering what the game would be like if Harry Potter magically made an appearance. What would the iconic wizard look like with some next-gen goodness?  Naturally, avid Hogwarts Legacy fans have made that a reality.

The upcoming Harry Potter game is set in the 1890s, following the antics of your own fifth-year student. You’ll be meeting all the Hogwarts Legacy companions along the way, but if you’re a Ravenclaw fan – don’t get too excited. However, if you’re a Gryffindor enthusiast, Redditor ‘Ok-Slide-2945‘ depicts what Harry Potter and his friends could look like in the game. These aren’t any ordinary concepts though, as the Redditor has used the wizardry of Stable Diffusion, a piece of AI text-to-image generation software.

The software requires an array of specific prompts to create its result, but the final output isn’t always a winner. In this case, the Redditor has lucked out with some surprisingly accurate renditions of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Luna Lovegood.

On the other hand, characters such as Voldemort, Draco Malfoy and Ron Weasley seem to have some artistic liberties taken in regard to their visage. Stable Diffusion’s recreation of the late Alan Rickman’s Severus Snape is clearly the most impressive of the bunch.

Sadly, Harry Potter doesn’t appear in Hogwarts Legacy – but then again, he wouldn’t have been born yet. Despite this, it seems that Harry Potter could be in Hogwarts Legacy after all, just not in the way you think. Another element missing from the game is Quidditch, so there won’t be any golden snitches flying around anytime.

We’re close to the Hogwarts Legacy release date, which is among the ranks of upcoming PS5 games for 2023. If you can’t wait for it to arrive, check out The Loadout’s Hogwarts Legacy preview for more gameplay details.

Hogwarts Legacy has drawn considerable criticism during its development, largely due to the fact that the creator of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling, has made a number of transphobic remarks on social media in recent years.

While Avalanche has confirmed that J.K. Rowling is not “directly involved” in the development of Hogwarts Legacy, it is working with “her team” and Portkey Games, a Warner Bros. label dedicated to launching new experiences inspired by J.K. Rowling’s original stories. It is currently unclear whether she will earn any royalties from the game’s sale, but it is likely given it is based on her original body of work.
