We know Grand Theft Auto 5 players are waiting patiently for more information on Grand Theft Auto 6, but GTA Online is still alive and kicking – if you’re paying for a GTA Plus membership, anyway. The GTA Online Vinewood Car Club is open for business and with it comes a whole host of benefits and – as you may have already guessed – free cars. We know GTA 6 is one of the most hotly anticipated upcoming PS5 games (and upcoming Xbox games) right now, but this sort of update doesn’t suggest it’s coming anytime soon.
If you want to know what the Vinewood Car Club is all about, you’re in the right place. As explained by this Rockstar Games blog post, the Vinewood Car Club is just the first “new premium service” GTA Online players with GTA Plus can take advantage of from the newly-established “Vinewood Club”.
From June 13, players with this subscription on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will be able to find the Vinewood Car Club in an “unassuming industrial warehouse on Elysian Island”. Inside, you’ll find a garage that “members and non-members alike” can check out some of this online mode’s best cars. If you don’t have GTA Plus, that’s pretty much where it ends. If you do have it, though, it gets a lot better.
“As a GTA [Plus] Member, you’ll be at liberty to utilize The Vinewood Car Club’s rotating selection of vehicles at your leisure and convenience in Freemode, either by dropping into the Car Club and driving one out or by using the Interaction Menu to order your chosen ride directly to your current location.”
You’ll also be able to pick up any one of these cars on a more permanent basis at an exclusive discount of 20% or more; oh, and you’ll also be able to claim the Vinewood Club Reward Vehicle each month – which is free. Although, if you’re not too fussed about customizing your ride, we don’t know why you’d want to pay for a car you can drive around for free in.
As mentioned earlier, “the Vinewood Club’s facilities and privileges will continue to expand, offering GTA [Plus] members new opportunities to congregate and acces exclusive additional benefits” in the future.
What does this mean for the GTA 6 release date? Well, we certainly don’t think it’s going to be coming anytime soon if Rockstar Games is kicking off yet-another exclusive feature for GTA Plus members to take advantage of. It’s also a shame that these sorts of things are only available to those of you out there willing to fork out even more money to GTA Online – if the price of Shark Cards wasn’t enough. When you couple that with the fact that GTA Online’s June update has finally added a feature ten years in the making, it’s clear that this online experience is an ongoing project.
