Fortnite Season 3 kicks off the next chapter of Epic Games’ battle royale with a fiery selection of weaponry, vehicles, and Mythic items to roam around the wasteland with. However, only one weapon is standing tall right now, and that’s a true Fortnite classic: the Tactical Assault Rifle. The preferred weapon of Keanu Reeves’ on-screen assassin John Wick returns, and it is better than ever.

Rejoice, John Wick fans, the game’s best AR is finally in Fortnite again. Epic Games has unvaulted the Tactical Assault Rifle, but not without some significant changes since it was last available in the ever-popular multiplayer game. One of the weapon’s best traits is dealing damage at range, and now, you can rely on that to eliminate foes with force. Here’s what Epic is tweaking when it comes to the weapon’s stats:

  • Increased damage at long distances
  • Reduced recoil
  • Reduced bullet spread

Now, you can beam targets from afar with high precision, as well as enjoying the benefits of reduced recoil and bullet spread. In our experience with the weapon in the latest season of the battle royale game, the Tactical Assault Rifle is a must-pick weapon for your arsenal for its solid fire rate and dependable accuracy. While it is intended for medium to long range skirmishes, it can also defend you decently in close-quarters gun-fights.

Weapon modding is still available, too, so you can customize the AR in to your liking. Although, if you need some guidance, adding an FPS game style sight and a quick change magazine is a pretty potent combo for securing the dub. Add in the new Nitro Splash for some speed and temporary fall damage immunity, and you’ll be just as unstoppable as John Wick himself.

Before its reappearance in the latest Fortnite patch notes, the Tactical Assault Rifle was introduced in May 2019, alongside the debut of the John Wick skin, to celebrate the release of John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum. The weapon is based on the appearance of the JW3 TTI MPX, which notably appears in The Continental battle in the movie’s third act. Since then, the John Wick skin has been updated to include variants based off of Keanu Reeves’ likeness in Chapter 4.

However, the one skin that the game still requires is a Neo skin from The Matrix. The emotes and gun wraps are there from The Matrix Resurrections crossover, so where is Neo? Sigh.
