Huge new Diablo 4 stats are super encouraging for Xbox Game Pass

Xbox Game Pass and Diablo 4 are a match made in heaven, with the hellish RPG series blazing a path for ActiBlizz’s future on the service.

The future of Xbox Game Pass is looking hellishly good – at least based on how ActiBlizz banger Diablo 4 has popped off on the subscription service. New stats from Microsoft’s top dog have revealed that Diablo 4 racked up a very impressive amount of play time when it was added to Game Pass in March.

“Last month we added our first Activision Blizzard title, Diablo 4, to our Game Pass service,” Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella says during the company’s latest earnings call. “Subscribers played over 10 million hours within the first 10 days, making it one of our biggest first-party Game Pass launches ever.” Suffice to say, Diablo 4 has cemented its place on the list of best Xbox Game Pass games.

Back in February, Xbox announced that Diablo 4 would finally make its way onto the list of Xbox Game Pass games, leading the charge in the boldest way possible. Considering how long players have had to wait for the expansive library of ActiBlizz games to appear on the service, Xbox was right to go big on its introductory title.

With ~34 million Game Pass subscribers able to get their claws into the iconic dungeon-crawling series’ latest and greatest as of March 28, the immediate success of Diablo 4 on Game Pass is hopefully an indicator of great things to come for the service – Microsoft’s certainly hoping so after shelling out an eye-watering $75 billion on ActiBlizz.

If Diablo 4 achieved these numbers as a true day-one launch into Game Pass, we’d be slightly less dazzled. However, given it was added to Game Pass nine months after it launched (and that launch was a big one, reaching 10 million players in its first month alone), these new numbers are mighty impressive.

If you’re umm’ing and ahh’ing about getting in on the heat in one of the best RPG games, peep the gleaming 10/10 Diablo 4 review over on our sister site, PCGamesN. “Diablo 4 embodies the essence of what makes Diablo so great,” it reads, “taking the best elements of its predecessors and sewing them together to create an ever-changing, ever-evolving chimera that we can’t wait to play for years to come.”

10 million hours, 10 days, and a 10/10 review – it doesn’t get more satisfying than that. But if Diablo 4 isn’t for you, then be sure to check out the new Game Pass games that have recently graced the service. Star Wars Jedi Survivor – one of the best Star Wars games out there – has also just made its grand entrance onto Game Pass, so get that on your download list if you’re one with the Force.
