Dead Space has a number of weapons, with tons of individual upgrades for each one from damage upgrades, to improved reload speed, increased magazine size, and more. But, the strongest improvements to your weapon have to be found as there are individual Dead Space weapon upgrades locations scattered throughout the Ishimura.
Upon obtaining them, you can then bring them back to the bench in Dead Space and work towards progressing through the tree to buy the upgrade using Dead Space Nodes. These enhancements will help you take on the tougher threats in the game as you pick up the Dead Space weapon locations and also are vital when you are playing on Dead Space’s new game plus mode or Impossible Mode in Dead Space.
Dead Space weapon upgrades
There are around a dozen Dead Space remake weapon upgrades locations to be found throughout the game, tucked away in rooms on the Ishimura, found in corridors and hidden in the ship. These are in addition to the standard stat buffs available via the bench.
The weapon upgrades can be found in the following places:
- Plasma Cutter Cartridge Rack weapon upgrade – Found in chapter 2, Medical – Ishimura Clinic
- Plasma Cutter Heat Accumulator weapon upgrade – Found in chapter 3
- Pulse Rifle Kinetic Autoloader weapon upgrade – Found in chapter 3
- Ripper Ricochet Tracer weapon upgrade – Found in chapter 3
- Flamethrower Gellified Hydrazine weapon upgrade – Found in chapter 3
- Contact Beam Supersymmetry Tether weapon upgrade – Found in chapter 4
- Line Gun Ionized Capacitor weapon upgrade – Found in chapter 5
- Ripper Angled Launcher weapon upgrade – Found in chapter 6, B. Andonov – Flow Supervisor
- Force Gun Subsconic Oscillator weapon upgrade – Found in chapter 6
We will be updating this list with more weapon upgrades as and when we find them as we are still finishing up our run through the game, finding everything. But, for now, you can find a more detailed overview of each one’s location on the Ishimura below:
Plasma Cutter Cartridge Rack weapon upgrade location
The first upgrade in the game is found in the Medical wing during chapter 2, specifically as you enter the Ishimura Clinic. Turn to the left after going through the initial door and you can find it on the set of chairs to take back to the bench.
Plasma Cutter Heat Accumulator weapon upgrade location
Upon getting to the control room in chapter 3, you will find a shop there. Open it up to be able to purchase the Plasma Cutter’s Heat Accumulator for 11,000 credits after getting the weapon.
Pulse Rifle Kinetic Autoloader weapon upgrade location
As with the above upgrade, this one can also be found in the same shop in the control room in the Engineering wing. It costs 11,000 Credits after getting the weapon.
Ripper Ricochet Tracer weapon upgrade location
The final upgrade in the same engineering storefront in Chapter 3 is the Ricochet Tracer for the Ripper. This also costs $11,000 Credits after getting the weapon.
Flamethrower Gellified Hydrazine weapon upgrade location
After starting the engines in chapter 3, you will eventually find yourself back in the control room before making your way to Hammond. Head back to the store here to find the flamethrower upgrade in the shop. It costs 11,500 Credits after getting the weapon.
Contact Beam Supersymmetry Tether weapon upgrade location
This upgrade can be purchased from the Store once you have obtained the Contact Beam in Chapter 4 of the game. It can be purchased for 12,000 Credits.
Line Gun Ionized Capacitator weapon upgrade location
After you have obtained the Line Gun in Chapter 5, you can buy this upgrade from the store for a total of 11,500 Credits. It can be bought from any store in the game.
Ripper Angled Launcher weapon upgrade location
This weapon upgrade can be found in chapter 6. It is on a table in B. Andonov – Flow Supervisor’s room. You can then take it to a Bench to use.
Force Gun Subsonic Oscillator weapon upgrade location
This upgrade can be purchased from any store upon gaining access to the Force Gun Dead Space remake weapon location in Chapter 6. It can be bought for 12,000 Credits.
That covers all of the Dead Space weapon upgrades locations. As you can see there are a lot of them to hunt down and they are brand new for the remake, as before all upgrades were just unlocked through the bench.
