Call of Duty Warzone Season 6 sees The Haunting event return for Halloween on PS5 and Xbox, and with it comes the return of the infamous crate jump scares.

We know the next Call of Duty game is mere months away, but the current run of content isn’t done yet; there’s still a lot to look forward to when Warzone Season 6 rolls around. If you’re looking for some treats this Halloween season, Zombie Royale is back with nighttime variants of both Al Mazrah and Vondel. As you might expect, though, there are some tricks on the way too. If you’re easily startled, you’ll be thrilled to learn that Warzone jump scares are back in this iteration of The Haunting.

We know there are times when Warzone doesn’t quite seem like one of the best battle royale games out there, but Call of Duty really doesn’t miss when it comes to Halloween and this year isn’t any different. In this recent Call of Duty Blog post, Activision confirms that “those infamous jump-scares” return alongside a whole host of fantastic content promising both “frightening thrills” and “the shambling undead”.

If you’re wondering what that all entails aside from the fact that Ash Williams is joining Modern Warfare 2 just days after the Evil Dead game calls time on new content, it means we can look forward to the return of Zombie Royale, a mid-season update including Operation Nightmare (where “otherworldly horrors” descend on Warzone), and the Vondead map update. As mentioned above, all of this comes with jump scares.

If you don’t know what they’re like, you can check out their first iteration below:

From what we can tell, these jump scares will only appear in Al Mazrah and Vondead during The Haunting event. So, you’re not going to be subjected to them from the Warzone Season 6 release date to the Modern Warfare 3 release date. However, when this event does arrive, you’re not going to be able to avoid them – unless you just stop looting entirely.

For those of you out there who want to prepare themselves fully for this update and all the new Warzone Season 6 guns and weapons, you can unlock Zombie Ghost in MW2 and Warzone right now. You can also check out how you can get free MW3 beta codes right now. When you think about the fact that a new MW3 Zombies beta could be coming very soon, it’s well worth trying to get access to it.
