The parachute glitch is possibly one of the most irritating persistent bugs in Call of Duty: Warzone, but it looks like we’re finally going to see it patched out the game soon. According to Joe Cecot, the co-design director of multiplayer at Infinity Ward, the development team has found a fix that it’ll be testing shortly.
The bug, which has been in the game for months now, was put under the spotlight when Tim ‘TimTheTatman‘ Betar posted a video on social media after a frustrating week streaming the game in which he lost a number of games to glitches and hackers. Since more users have since confirmed they’re also still experiencing the bug, one player decided to question Cecot and Infinity Ward about it, and it turns out the team are actively working on it.
“We had been spot fixing this issue in the geometry, but map tweaks and updates would cause more locations to become problematic,” Joe Cecot says on Twitter. “Asked code to take a look at it and they have a fix we’re going to put into test. It should be in the mid-season 5 update if all goes well.”
As Season 4 comes to a close this weekend with a Shipment 24/7 playlist and double XP, players will have to wait a little bit longer than expected to the bug to be quashed. But given the complicated nature of the glitch, it’s only right that Infinity Ward test the fix before it’s released to the world sometime in September.
