The Krig just got nerfed in Call of Duty: Warzone

Today's Warzone update has dished out a buff to the new CX-9 and a Krig 6 nerf

After quickly establishing itself as one of the best Warzone guns in Season 5, and becoming the most used primary weapon too, the time at the top for the Krig 6 could be over. The assault rifle has received a damage nerf in a mini update pushed out by developer Raven Software.

The Krig has been widely used in Warzone thanks to its decent damage output and easily-controlled recoil. However, the update today, August 5, has reduced its lower torso damage multiplier and also slashed its maximum damage range too. While it will still feel comfortable to use, and headshots will still be rewarded with a healthy damage multiplier, expect your Krig Warzone loadout to feel slightly weaker when beaming players from long distances.

The only other change listed in this micro-patch is a buff to the game’s newest addition, the CX-9. This SMG was no slouch, and was being used by plenty of players since its surprise release this week. Despite its popularity, Raven has deemed it worthy of a buff, and has increased its mid-damage range from 20 to 21.

Raven has also given the tiniest of increases to its headshot multiplier damage, which is good news if your CX-9 Warzone loadout is built for accuracy.

As the Warzone developer gears up for the launch of Season 5 next week, this week’s patch was always going to be a small one.

While it may be tiny in size, though, the guns it has affected are rather significant. With the Krig in particular, this marks an interesting little shake up to the Warzone meta right before the new season.
