Warzone 2 Season 2 could ignite a promising chapter for the COD battle royale. Developer Raven Software is working on several quality-of-life tweaks for the battle royale and we’re certain players will love one specific change. The Modern Warfare 2 spin-off mode has received criticism for its divisive loot system, with many hoping it would revert to its old ways. COD players have had their pleas answered, as the Warzone 2 Season 2 loot system will introduce a vital tweak.

Olibertating players with the best Warzone 2 guns in Al Mazrah can be fun, but equipping those weapons is a different matter. Before players can use Warzone 2 meta weapons, looting caches, boxes, and enemy backpacks is the key way to survive. In the original Warzone, enemy loot was dispersed instantly upon death, which enabled players to quickly gather ammo and better guns. Looting drastically changed with Warzone 2, as players are required to search through a separate menu, rather than nabbing new weapons on the fly.

The PUBG-style loot system quickly gathered detractors on Reddit before release, with some players dubbing it the “worst looting system in any battle royale ever.”

Raven Software is set to change this in Warzone 2 Season 2, as a new tweet says that “player eliminations and all loot containers will now pop floating loot out onto the floor.” The developer clarifies that “battle royale looting changes, and many more, are coming with Season 02” and more information will be detailed “in next week’s studio blog.”

Reverting the loot system back to its former ways should be a surefire hit with players. However, commonly noted topics such as the inability to plate up while running, remain heavily debated by COD fans.

Season 2 of the Call of Duty battle royale was recently delayed, but players can expect to see other implementations outside of looting. Following the absence of Rebirth Island or Fortune’s Keep, Warzone 2 is in need of smaller battle royale battles. Season 2 players will eventually be able to drop into a new Resurgence map.

Like you, we’re just as eager to drop back into Al Mazrah when the Warzone 2 Season 2 release date rolls around. Until then, if you’re hopping into Warzone 2 DMZ mode, we’ve got you covered with all Warzone 2 DMZ key locations.
