Vanguard BAR loadout: a wooden barrelled BAR assault rifle set against a black background

In Call of Duty Vanguard, there’s a wide variety of assault rifles to choose from. For this Vanguard loadout guide, we’re taking a look at the BAR. It’s a gun that stems from the historical Second World War battles reimagined in Vanguard and whilst it’s technically classed as an assault rifle, it also shares elements with LMGs due to its high damage numbers.

It’s not a weapon you’ll want to run-and-gun with though as the low-fire rate doesn’t fare well in close quarters. It does, however, excel at longer range. So, you’ll want to get your loadout sorted, get yourself in position, and play with patience to get the best out of this hard-hitting assault rifle.

With Call of Duty:Vanguard introducing a new attachment system that offers ten slots, there’s an opportunity to customise your weapons at a whole new level. So, considering there’s quite a bit to choose from when it comes to kitting out the BAR, we’ve put together the optimum BAR loadout for you to use in Vanguard multiplayer.

Here’s our pick for the best BAR Vanguard class.

Best BAR Vanguard class

  • Muzzle: A2 Flash Hider
  • Barrel: Chariot 18” Rapid
  • Optic: Zeiss G16 2.5x
  • Stock: None
  • Underbarrel: None
  • Magazine: 8mm Jaeger 20 Round
  • Ammo Type: Subsonic
  • Rear Grip: Rubber Grip
  • Proficiency: Hardscope
  • Kit: Fast Melee

This BAR class is based on the one used by YouTuber ‘Frizzeyes’, and it’s geared towards recoil control, an increase in fire rate, and bolstering the BAR’s already high damage output that can take out a player in just three shots. It also doesn’t hurt that the Subsonic ammo keeps you off the radar.

You’ll notice Frizzeyes doesn’t take advantage of the ten attachment slots on offer. But, if you are looking to add more to your BAR, we have a few recommendations to fill up some of the other slots.

If you’re looking to up the recoil control even more and help out the BAR with extending its range when you want to post up somewhere safer, we’d add on Hardscope as your proficiency attachment. Even at range, you can’t stop opponents getting a little too close for comfort, and for those instances we’d recommend the Fast Melee as your kit attachment.

We also suggest using the 8mm Jaeger magazine, which gives you plenty of extra benefits, including better recoil control, in exchange for a small drop in bullet velocity and damage.

That’s everything we’ve got for you on the best Vanguard BAR class right now, but if you fancy yourself as a bit of a sharpshooter, why not take a glance at our best Vanguard Kar98k loadout guide too. Also be sure to check out our best Vanguard guns guide.
