You can earn free perks in MW3 Zombies if you finish these easter eggs

If you're strapped for Essence in MWZ, there's a way you can earn free perks in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies by doing some very specific tasks.

Call of Duty’s new Modern Warfare 3 open-world Zombies mode isn’t to everyone’s tastes, but there’s a lot of fun to be had if you give it a chance – and a lot to unlock. Like any COD Zombies mode, though, perks are an important part of survival in MW3 Zombies. Thankfully, you don’t need to run around the map looking for a Wunderfizz machine to get yourself started; you can actually get yourself several free perks in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies every time you drop into Urzikstan.

If you’re planning on taking advantage of this new MW3 Zombies XP farm method to level up some of the best MW3 guns or weapons you think will fall into the MW3 meta when the Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 release date rolls around, you’re going to need to make sure you have a full suite of perks equipped – especially if you’re planning on venturing into the High Threat zone in the center of the new Warzone map currently available to explore in Modern Warfare 3. But, getting a full suite of perks is easier said than done when you think about the fact that they cost you valuable Essence – and the perk machines are scattered across a huge battle royale map.

Thankfully, there’s a handful of simple easter eggs you can complete in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies to get your hands on some free perks – and they’re all useful ones to have to hand in the thick of it. Those free perks are:

  • Quick Revive
  • Juggernog
  • Deadshot Daquiri
  • PHD Flopper
  • Speed Cola
  • Death Perception

If you want to get yourself a free Quick Revive every time you drop into a game of Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, you essentially need to race between two signs on a highway near Hadiqa Farms during your game – so, we recommend getting your hands on a vehicle. All you need to do is wait under the sign with the little blue bear (apparently named Mister Peeks) on it to begin. There are two of these along the road, and you need the southern-most one to start off with. When you hear a laugh, you have to drive North-East down the highway to the next overhead sign to trigger a Reward Rift and spawn the free Quick Revive perk.

This is a little harder than it sounds, and may take you a couple of attempts. However, using a two-person ATV should mean you’re more than quick enough.

If you want to get a Juggernog for free, which is another important perk for any COD Zombies mode, you’ll need to throw a Molotov cocktail into the campfire just south of the Seaport District. If you don’t spawn in with one, you shouldn’t have a tough time finding one while looting – they’re quite common. This is also in an orange-level difficulty area, however. So, you’ll need to be quick if you’re under-prepared. It’s not somewhere we recommend going straight away without any weapons.

For those of you who want to get your hands on Deadshot Daquiri for free, you will need to head to the I3 quadrant of the map and throw a Semtex grenade from atop a gravestone into the window of a church tower. If you have a Cybmal Monkey to hand, we recommend doing this while one of them is active, just to make sure you’re not interrupted while throwing. However, it’s not the hardest throw and you should be able to make it. Then, a Reward Rift will spawn in the tower and your free Deadshot Daquiri awaits.

For this one, you really do just need to keep an eye out for enemies. The church itself is quite unique, so it should be easy to spot when you’re searching the area.

For PHD Flopper, which is a great perk if you’re in a bit of a tight spot, you’ll need to dive off of the roof at Shahin Manor into the pool. Then, the Mister Peeks sat poolside will transform into a Reward Rift and you’ll be able to claim your free perk.

This is the easiest one to do and you can get roof access from inside the main building of the POI – so, you don’t even need to do any tricky parkour or parachuting.

Speed Cola is another vehicle-based Easter Egg, but it’s a lot easier than what you need to do for Quick Revive. All you need to do is head to Legacy’s Fortress and drive off of the eagle-shaped stone statue at the top of the hill. There should be a Mister Peeks sat at the top of the stone eagle’s head, which indicates where you need to jump your vehicle from.

This is in an orange area of the map, though. So, if you’re unprepared, you should make sure you’re in and out before you get caught out by the tougher enemies here.

Finally, for those of you who want Death Perception for free, you’re going to need to jump from the smallest smoke stack tower in Popov Power and use your parachute to glide through the three rings of the atomic-style statue to the South-East. When you land, you should spot a Reward Rift spawn just on the edge of the Medium Threat zone and you’ll find your Death Perception perk for free.

This one can be a little tricky if your trajectory is off, but there’s no harm in heading back to the smoke stack tower and trying again.

It’s worth noting that this is just what players have discovered right now. There could very-well be a way for you to get all the Modern Warfare 3 Zombies perks for free every time you jump into a game – which is seeming more and more likely the more of these secrets get discovered. A handful of the available challenges do offer you perks, though, so it’s worth checking those out in addition to the above easter eggs.

We know you can beat this dangerous Modern Warfare 3 Zombies boss in a handful of minutes, but you’ll have a tough time doing almost anything in this mode if you don’t get perked up. So, being able to save yourself the Essence and get them for free is definitely far from a bad thing. It’s also not a bad place to test weapons from some of the best Modern Warfare 3 loadouts either; for the most part, the enemies in Zombies don’t shoot back.
