The new Xbox Spring Sale is here, and it’s knocking money off of some of last year’s top titles. For the very first time on the Xbox platform, that includes Larian Studios’ critically-acclaimed Baldur’s Gate 3, which has been blessed with a 10% discount. For those of you that have been waiting to pick up the Game of the Year award-hoarding RPG on sale, your time has finally come.
While Alan Wake 2 just edged it for us in our own GOTY vote last year, there’s no denying that Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the best Xbox games of the Series X|S era and is one of the best RPGs ever made. While it’s nowhere near ‘bargain bucket’ territory just yet, players on PS5 and PC have managed to snap up Baldur’s Gate 3 below its retail price in the past thanks to some brief discounts. However, because it arrived on the Series X and S a little later than other platforms, Xbox players haven’t had that same opportunity – until now.
The Xbox Spring Sale has just kicked off, and Baldur’s Gate 3 one of the headline inclusions. From now until April 18, you can pick up one of the best games of this console generation for just $62.99/ £52.19, down from its regular price of $69.99/ £57.99.
This is the joint-lowest price Baldur’s Gate 3 has been on console, matching what we’ve seen on the PS Store previously.
The same discount also applies to its Digital Deluxe Edition, which is now $71.99/£59.39, down from $79.99/ £65.99. This lets you download various digital trinkets and in-game bonus content like a special theme for your dice rolls.
While there is a physical version of the Deluxe Edition available for pre-order for Xbox players, you can only get this directly from Larian and it’s not enjoying the 10% discount that the digital versions of the game currently are. Plus, because it comes with a physical disc, Xbox Series S owners may as well buy a chocolate kettle. It does admittedly look quite cool though…
Although this 10% discount is nowhere near the biggest saving in the Spring Sale (some games are being slapped with discounts of up to 95%) it is definitely one that a lot of Xbox players have been waiting for. As mentioned, you’ve got less than two weeks at the time of writing to cash in on this, and with how popular Baldur’s Gate 3 has been, we don’t expect to see any bigger discounts arrive for the game any time soon.
