We don’t know what is going on at Ubisoft, but there’s another Assassin’s Creed Mirage leak to talk about and it seems to reinforce rumours that the Assassin’s Creed Mirage release date was pushed back two months – a release date, we might add, that hasn’t been confirmed in the first place. If you’re looking forward to Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Basim’s origin story, you’re going to have to wait a little longer. If what we know is true, it is coming out in October 2023.
As per this information sourced by Japanese game scheduler ‘Renka_Schedule‘, a number of Japanese retailers – including Amazon Japan and Yodobashi dot com – are listing Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage with a release date of October 12, 2023. With these being retailers that traditionally don’t add release dates to listings unless confirmed, this seems to all-but-confirm prior rumours that the game’s release date was delayed.
Of course, it’s worth taking these things with a pinch of salt, but this leak does suggest that we could see some sort of Assassin’s Creed Mirage trailer during the PlayStation Showcase on March 24 – of which, a Ubisoft Forward showcase presentation follows on June 12.
One interesting detail about all of this, though, is the day of the week it falls on. October 12, 2023, is a Thursday. Traditionally, new games release on Fridays – however, Ubisoft has been quite liberal with the days of the week it releases games on in the past. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla dropped on a Tuesday, for example, as did Odyssey. Origins, however, was released on a Friday.
So, while we can’t see Thursday being too much of an issue for the developer, it’s worth keeping this in mind. The October 12 release date could also reflect Japan’s timezone, with a release in the US or UK falling on the day after – a Friday.
Either way, it looks like the new Assassin’s Creed Mirage release date is all-but-confirmed; we expect to learn more about this from official sources shortly, so keep your eagle-eyes peeled.
Is this going to be one of the best games of all time? That might be a stretch – there’s stiff competition there. However, it could very-well be one of the best Assassin’s Creed games yet. The leaks are promising, and the Assassin’s Creed Mirage soundtrack is going to be something rather special. Package that up with Triple-A graphics and a fantastic protagonist like Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s Basim, and we’re all in for a treat.
