Armored Core 6 Premium Edition is really insulting you with its price

Bandai Namco's Armored Core 6 preorders are live and the Premium Edition costs double the Collector's Edition despite only coming with one more thing in it.

If you’re looking forward to Bandai Namco’s upcoming PS5 game (and, of course, upcoming Xbox gameArmored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon, then you’re going to want to check out the pre-orders that are live right now. Ahead of the Armored Core 6 release date, you can actually guarantee yourself an edition of the game that comes with a figurine of an Armored Core. Although, if you want somewhere to put them, you’re going to need to pay almost double the price.

Yes, that’s right, Armored Core 6 pre-orders are available now and they come with some fantastic stuff. Among other things, the $230 Collector’s Edition of Armored Core 6 comes with a 19cm figurine of an Armored Core. However, if you want an Armored Core Garage to go with your Armored Core figurine, you’re going to need to pick up the $450 Premium Edition of the game. Of course, this comes with a few other bits of bonus content, too, but that’s still almost double the price of the Collector’s Edition and over seven times as much as the standard release.

If you’re wondering what else you get in these editions, and you want a good look at the Armored Core figurine and the over-priced Armored Core Garage that comes with it, you can find that out below.

If you want to pre-order the standard edition of Armored Core 6 on Xbox, it’ll cost you $60 – and you can follow the link below. This edition, like the Armored Core 6 standard edition PS5 preorder here, comes with the MELANDER C3 G13 Special Customization TENDERFOOT content pack – which includes an exclusive decal and early unlocks in-game.

The Deluxe Edition of Armored Core 6, which will set you back a little more at $70, also comes with access to a digital artbook and the original soundtrack – also available digitally. Again, like the Armored Core 6 Deluxe Edition PS5 preorder, you will also get the MELANDER C3 G13 Special Customization TENDERFOOT content. This comes with all Armored Core 6 preorders – even the expensive ones below.

Speaking of those, the Armored Core 6 Collector’s Edition comes with the base game, a 19cm Armored Core figurine, a steelbook case for the game, a set of four pin badges, a set of 45 stickers, a 40-page hardcover art book, and access to the soundtrack digitally. This, as mentioned above, will cost you a whopping $230 / £199.99 if you want to buy it.

If you want to go one step further, you can get the Armored Core 6 Premium Edition for $450 / £399.99 – which is just about double the price. This comes with all of the above and a 32cm Armored Core Garage – where you can store your Armored Core figurine – and… that’s it. That’s right, the Garage itself is worth an additional $220 / £200 for some reason. It seems absolutely ridiculous when you think about it – as cool as it does look.

Yeah, we don’t know about that one either. If you want to get the full set, then we’re not going to judge you – it does look very cool. However, the fact that Bandai Namco is valuing the Premium Edition at double the price of the Collector’s Edition for one additional item is just baffling. It completely disregards any sense of value for money in an already-expensive Collector’s Edition and seems like an insult to fans.

Either way, this isn’t going to affect any sort of Armored Core 6 multiplayer offerings and it’s not going to impact whether this game will end up as one of the best games of all time or not. It’s just a nice ornament to have on your shelf – if you have the money for it. But, just know that you’re not really getting much more bang for your 450 bucks.
