Apex Legends’ Vantage has hidden passive ability perfect for snipers

Did you know that Apex Legends’ Vantage has a secret second passive ability? Well, here’s everything you need to know ahead of Season 14 and her release in-game

We know it has been a long few months, but Apex Legends’ Season 14 update is almost here and we’re so excited to get stuck into everything Respawn Entertainment is bringing to the table with this new season of content. We know the developers have said that Apex Legends’ Kings Canyon rework should shake up the meta, but there’s so much more that’s going to shake-up the status quo in-game. One of the more subtle things coming is the hidden second ability attached to Vantage’s Spotter’s Lens passive.

Watching Apex Legends’ “Meet Vantage” character trailer is a fantastic way of getting a good look at what Vantage is bringing to the table ahead of the Apex Legends Season 14 release time and her addition to the game’s roster of characters. It might not be raw gameplay footage, but it also offers an important insight into how each ability is going to look and perform in-game.

However, Vantage’s hidden second passive ability goes somewhat under the radar – even though it’s actually something that is included in the aforementioned character trailer.

Looking at the small print under the “Spotter’s Lens” banner in the trailer, you’ll see confirmation that this ability does more than allow Vantage to scout enemy squads from a distance; players will actually get access to a unique bullet drop indicator when using high magnification scopes on snipers.

Why is this important? Well, for a lot of players, using a sniper rifle in Apex Legends is far from an easy task. The heavier weapons in this battle royale can hit hard at a distance, but they have quite an aggressive bullet drop that can be quite hard to manage – especially when your target is moving. This unique addition to Vantage’s passive ability isn’t just going to solidify her place as the ‘sniper character’ on Apex Legends’ roster, it’s also going to make long-range combat using the game’s selection of sniper rifles much more viable.

Is this something that solidifies Apex Legends’ place as one of the best battle royale games out there? It’s hard to say, but it’s something of a sign that Respawn Entertainment is constantly looking at areas of the game that are lacking and need improvement. The unusual selection of Season 14 weapon changes are also a testament to this – although, don’t expect to see any Charge Rifle nerfs just yet.

Apex Legends’ Season 14 EVA-8 buff could change the meta in a huge way and Apex Legends’ Season 14 finally removes Self Revive from the battle royale. However, we think that this secret addition to Vantage’s passive ability is going to have more of an impact on the next season than you might think – and it should help her find a healthy place in the top half of our Apex Legends tier list. Although, we’re not going to commit to that until we have tried it out for ourselves.
