The first wave of Xbox exclusives coming to other platforms has now been revealed, and it sees Grounded and Pentiment arrive on Nintendo Switch. But that’s not all, because a mistakenly-posted trailer confirms that Hi-Fi Rush is also skating over to PS5.
During the recent Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Microsoft and Nintendo confirm that the one of the first Xbox exclusives going multi-platform will be Grounded. Often cited as one of the best multiplayer games on Xbox, the survival action-adventure game shrinks down players to the size of an insect, tasking them with navigating the perils of their backyard.
As you’re absolutely tiny, that means squishing spiders and other creepy crawlies won’t be easy. Whether you’re playing solo or in four-player mode, Grounded will please co-op game fans on the Switch when it drops on April 26, 2024.
Now, Pentiment is what really has us excited. The excellent RPG game, also developed by Obsidian Entertainment, quickly became a hit amid the ranks of the best Xbox Game Pass games. With a unique art style and a refreshing, narrative-driven spin on the genre, the acclaimed Xbox title is heading to Nintendo Switch far sooner. In fact, you can start playing it tomorrow, February 22.
However, after rumors about Microsoft’s plans for new Xbox games, you might be wondering: where is Hi-Fi Rush? Well, it looks like Microsoft has let the cat out of the bag early. A now-deleted trailer on Bethesda’s LATAM YouTube channel confirms that Hi-Fi Rush will come to PS5 on Monday, March 18, 2024.
Via Google Translate, we’ve translated the trailer’s synopsis, which approximately reads as follows: “Chai and his team are on tour, and soon they’ll take to a whole new stage: charge up your DualSense controller and turn up the volume because… Hi-Fi Rush is coming to PlayStation 5 on March 18.”
The new PS5 game will offer all the “game’s content, including the Arcade Challenge update with two additional game modes: Full Time and Tower Assault.” Players who opt to pre-order the Deluxe Edition will gain access to “the dressing rooms with the Hi-Fi Rush Digital Deluxe Edition, which features the full game, additional cosmetics, and gears (the in-game currency) to upgrade your moves.”
The energetic sleeper hit from Tango Gameworks garnered plenty of love last year, and it seems like an ideal for Nintendo’s handheld. We gave it a solid 9/10 in our Hi-Fi Rush review.
Hi-Rush on PS5 is excellent, but we’re surprised to not see it join Grounded and Pentiment on the Switch. With the fates of three games revealed, it leaves one more left out of the four that Phil Spencer teased recently. With the Hi-Fi Rush news now out of the bag, can Tango Gameworks get to work on The Evil Within 3 next, please?
