The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Lynel: Link fighting a Lynel at night in Breath of the Wild.

Lynels are among the toughest enemies in the game, packing a hefty punch and a varied moveset. If you’re having trouble taking down this foe, then fret not. Here is everything you need to know about The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Lynels, including how to beat Lynels in Tears of the Kingdom. Defeating these mighty centaur-like monsters is a challenge, but a worthwhile one once you get a hang of it.

With the game finally here it’s best to be prepared for Link’s next adventure. Find out all about the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom vehicles that you can make in the game using the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom powers and abilities. These will also come in handy when fighting The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Lynels.

How to beat a Lynel in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

To beat a Lynel in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you will want to:

  • Be prepared – cook healing items and food that boosts max hearts, defence, and attack power
  • Perfect Parry – executing a Perfect Parry will give you an opening to attack
  • Aim for the head – shooting an arrow at a Lynel’s face will stun it, giving you another opening to attack

Perhaps the most important thing to remember when fighting a Lynel is to be prepared. Using the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom cooking system, make sure to cook plenty of food that heals, grants additional hearts, increases defense, or increases attack power. Lynels are ferocious, dealing huge damage in a single strike, so you’re going to need these items to come out on top.

Mastering the Perfect Parry of their close-range attacks will also be key to beating a Lynel. At close range, Lynels have deadly swings with their melee weapons to be ready to dodge backward or perform a Perfect Parry using your shield. If you get the timing right, a Perfect Parry will let Link unleash a flurry of attacks while the Lynel is vulnerable.

Last but not least, shooting an arrow at Lynel’s face will cause it to stagger. This is great not only for interrupting attacks but also for closing the gap and giving you an opportunity to attack.

In Breath of the Wild, players could use powers like Stasis and Bombs against Lynels, though it’s unknown if this will work in Tears of the Kingdom, or if the new powers will have uses against these foes. This guide will be updated as more information becomes available.
