Guess what? If you’re an Xbox or PlayStation gamer, you can bag yourself a free trip to Hawaii this weekend! Well, kinda. That’s because Ubisoft’s excellent open-world racer, The Crew Motorfest, is completely free across all platforms right now to celebrate its third season of content.
The Crew Motorfest is the third installment in the series and is one of the best racing games of the last couple of years. Admittedly, in our view, Forza Horizon 5 remains the king of open-world racing, but Motorfest gives it a decent run for its money and has been well-supported since its launch last year. Seeing as FH5 is also one of the biggest Xbox exclusives, Motorfest has been a more than suitable alternative for those on PlayStation. Now though, everyone can play it for free up until March 18 at 5am PT/ 8am ET/ 12pm GMT.
If you’re totally in the dark about what to expect from Motorfest and you’re wondering whether it’s worth your time this weekend, let’s get you up to speed. The coolest thing about it is that the action doesn’t just stop at the best The Crew Motorfest cars. The game’s lineup of vehicles is well over 600-strong and includes bikes, monster trucks, boats, and planes too. All of this is set on the beautiful Hawaiian island of O’ahu, and it’s an open-world game that encourages exploration just as much as hard racing – we’ve spent far too long driving around hunting for all the collectibles…
As mentioned, this free weekend coincides with the launch of The Crew Motorfest Season 3. The new update adds dozens of new vehicles and the Hollywood Action playlist, which sees you take on movie-related challenges in cars that starred in iconic blockbusters.
So, if you’re looking for something new to play this weekend – whether you’re a racing game fan or not – here’s an easy, cost-effective option for you. You don’t have to do anything out of the ordinary to get into the free weekend either – simply search for The Crew Motorfest on either the PlayStation or Xbox store, select the standard edition, and there’ll be an option to download a free ‘trial’ version of the game.
