The return of the Arkhamverse is set for 2023, as Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League brings forth a new DC Comics adventure. Developer Rocksteady Studios is leaving no stone unturned for DC fans with the game’s battle pass system, which promises a heap of cosmetics potential spanning the wider Suicide Squad lore. It definitely appears that way, as the latest State of Play preview contains a first look at some iconic cosmetics – you just have to be watching it in another region.

Recently developer Rocksteady Studios unveiled the latest look at Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, garnering attention within February’s State of Play presentation. Adopting a live service model akin to Marvel’s Avengers, the game will include a Fortnite-style battle pass and it appears to feature the Suicide Squad’s original outfits.

Players who view the Warner Play Latino version of the preview should wait till the very last frame, as a split-second image of the Squad’s first appearance cosmetics can be seen on screen. This titillating tease arrives back to back with another potential nod too. Taking place in the Arkhamverse, other fans believe that Rocksteady is teasing Red Hood’s role in the story.

Possible pre-order bonus, Suicide Squad first appearance outfits

Redditor ‘NoPersonKnowsWhoIAm‘ suggests that the outfits could be a “possible pre-order bonus” but Rocksteady is yet to confirm such plans. Comic connoisseurs will note that these outfits are based on each character’s respective first appearance in DC Comics history, as opposed to their collective appearance together.

The game will initially see the lineup of Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, King Shark, and Deadshot go toe-to-toe with the Justice League. Over the decades the Suicide Squad has seen numerous rosters, with legendary Batman villain Harley Quinn aiding Task Force X’s disastrous endeavours in Suicide Squad #1 in 2011. Quinn’s compatriots have remained long-running members of the team, though founding member Rick Flagg is absent from the game’s team – for now at least.

Rocksteady Studios is set to bring an array of new Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League characters to the game, which will serve as free additions alongside fresh missions. It is unknown which characters will appear but Rick Flagg seems to be a surefire bet down the line. Whoever does arrive on the scene, the game’s age rating confirms it’ll be a bloody one.

Who knows maybe Slipknot, the man who can climb anything, will land in Metropolis. You’ll have to wait until the Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League release date for that though.
