This handy Twitch bot tells you when the PS5 and Xbox Series X are back in stock

Here's a quick, efficient way to check next-gen stock availability

With the next-gen console war raging hotter than ever, there’s one thing that brings gamers of all allegiances together: a hatred of dodgy resellers. In the past, we’ve seen plenty of small-scale resellers flogging a few consoles on launch day for well above store price, but with the recent arrival of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, things have perhaps gotten a little out of hand.

In fact, a UK-based group of resellers used bots to quickly snap up around 3,500 PS5s before genuine buyers could even get a look in. This type of large-scale reselling has meant that many have been unable to secure their next-gen console of choice.

That said, Twitch user Cam ‘Killercam1020’ Ritz may have a solid solution – a bot that is constantly checking for next-gen stock at a host of online retailers. The bad news, however, is that the bot can’t summon consoles out of thin air, so you’re still likely to see page after page of “OUT OF STOCK” notifications before maybe, possibly getting lucky.

Speaking to Polygon, Ritz confirmed that some viewers have been able to grab consoles by paying close attention to his ongoing stream. Twitter user Wario64 has also been regularly updating his followers with stock alerts.
