PlayStation’s new PS Plus Season of Play promo event is starting and PS5 players (and PS4 players) can claim five free PSN avatars right now. You do only have until January 5 to claim them, though, so make sure you’re using the code below sooner rather than later.
If you want to pause whichever one of the best PS5 games you’re playing and get your hands on the five free PlayStation Network avatars available, all you need to do is redeem one of the following codes from PS Plus through the PlayStation Store on your PS5 or PS4 console.
- DGNJ-4J45-6DQB (Americas)
- 3GAA-D9L3-2G97 (Europe)
- RFAH-BHAR-9K8L (Japan)
As you can see in the tweet from industry commentator ‘Wario64‘ below, the five free PSN avatars all feature characters from some of the best FPS games and best RPG games on PlayStation consoles. Looking at who those characters actually are, you have Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima (easily one of the best PS5 RPG games available at the moment) and Kim Kitsuragi from Disco Elysium on the top row – which is a hidden gem everyone should give a go when they can.
Then, you have Ezio from Assassin’s Creed 2 (the main character in one of the best Assassin’s Creed games and one of the franchise’s best character), Sledge from Rainbow Six Siege, and Cloud from the Final Fantasy franchise. All five avatars avoid anything festive, somewhat unusually given the fact that it’s the holidays, and feature the PS Plus logo – overbearingly so – in the background.
We know we think PlayStation’s PS Plus Season of Play promo event is painfully mediocre in what it offers players, but these new PSN avatars are free and free is better than nothing – even if it just applies to somewhat meaningless cosmetics like this.
If you want to check out something a little more worthwhile – that is also free – however, you can find out more about all the free PS Plus games you can pick up with the PS Plus December 2023 games line-up right here. This service might not be offering you new PS5 games, but they’re some of the best games PS Plus has provided us with for some time.
