Black Friday and Cyber Monday may have faded away, but the good news is that End of Year deals are now live on the PS Store. Whether you’re gathering the last DLC packs you need or if you’re after a bargain, you don’t want to miss out of the best discounts of the bunch. PS5 players need to check out this Souslike shooter, as Remnant 2 Deluxe Edition currently has a major discount to take advantage of.
We mean it when we say that Gunfire Games’ Remnant 2 is easily one of the best Soulslikes games that 2023 has to offer. Combining the challenging action of games like Elden Ring or Lies of P with meaty, third-person shooter antics, there is a lot of fun to be had with Remnant 2. Now, PS5 owners can boot up their consoles to nab this awesome End of Year deal on Remnant 2 Deluxe Edition, which brings the game’s price tag down to $38.99/£32.49. That’s a solid 35% saving, as the game’s Deluxe Edition normally retails for $59.99/£49.99. For those of you in the United States, you can find the deal here, while the United Kingdom based players can grab it here.
This deal is even more of a steal, because it is actually cheaper than the standard version of Remnant 2, which currently costs $49.99/£44.99. Conversely, it is also cheaper Remnant 2 Ultimate Edition, the highest tier of the game, retailing at $69.99/£54.99. The main difference to consider is that Remnant 2 Ultimate Edition includes all future Remnant 2 DLC packs, such as the recent The Awakened King expansion.
If you never played the first game, Remnant 2 takes its concept of randomly generated worlds and maze-like locales completely to another level. You can even encounter the game’s DLC at random on your adventures, rather than starting it traditionally. However, what really sets Remnant 2 apart for us is the game’s focus on merging third-person shooter gameplay within the Soulslike genre.
The sheer versatility of Remnant 2 classes is astounding, and you’ll easily find yourself experimenting for hours with each of the best Remnant 2 weapons found along the way. We’ve spoken to Gunfire Games about the latest DLC, as principal designer Ben Cureton reveals everything you need to know about new weapons and surprises in The Awakened King DLC. Best of all, even if you don’t own The Awakened King DLC, you can still play it. You just won’t be reaping of its benefits, however.
Not worry though, if you’re an Xbox player, we’ve got you covered too. You can get hold of a similar discount through the Xbox storefront, though it isn’t quite as lucrative as the PlayStation counterpart.
In our Remnant 2 review, where we award it a decent 8/10 score, we note that it features “multiple classes, strange worlds, frantic combat, and astounding replayability, Remnant 2 more than improves on the foundation laid by its predecessor, making for an enjoyable and action-filled romp.”
