The PlayStation Days of Play sale will finally arrive on May 29, bringing with it some of the best deals you’ll get all year on PS4 and PS5 bangers. The biggest headliners include Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth which have both received their first major post-launch discounts, making it the perfect time to dive into these expansive, open-world hits. But you better act quickly, as the sale itself ends at 11:59pm local time on Wednesday, June 12.
Having swung past the 10 million sales mark just three months after it arrived last year, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is without a doubt Insomniac’s best game to date. In our 10/10 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 review, we call the PS5 exclusive a “masterpiece,” noting that “it’s visually stunning, narratively brilliant, and somehow manages to improve Insomniac’s already stellar traversal and combat from previous Spidey games.”
You can check out a trailer for it here.
When the PS Days of Play sale goes live on Wednesday, May 29, Spider-Man 2 should find itself knocked down to $52.50/£52.50 – 25% off its current $69.99/£69.99 price tag. This should likewise be the case with the incredible Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth ($52.20 in the US and £52.50 in the UK)- one of the best RPG games not only of this year but of all time. Having achieved universal acclaim on Metacritic with a whopping 92 Metascore to show for it, Square Enix’s median installment in the remake trilogy is an absolute tour de force in open-world game design.
Elsewhere in the sale, there are savings to be had on other big names. Cody Rhoades finished his story at Wrestlemania this year, and for 25% off you can too in WWE 2K24. 2K’s long-running wrestling series has gone from strength to strength in recent times, and this year’s game is no exception. During the sale, you’ll be able to pick it up for $44.99/£44.99, down from $59.99/£59.99.
Finally, I want to spotlight the incredible Alan Wake 2 (US/UK) – one of my favorite games from last year and one that is also featured in the sale. Our very own Remedy aficionado, Sam Comrie, gave the studio’s latest full marks in our 10/10 Alan Wake 2 review, calling it “visually astounding, thematically potent, and an absolute must for newcomers and fans alike.” Seeing as it’s only available through digital storefronts, any opportunity to bag a discount is a good one.
With so many incredible titles entering the PS Days of Play sale, I’m currently clutching my pursestrings for dear life. You can check out the full list of games dropping in price here.
