Any new Pokémon game brings with it tons of new additions to the list of Pokémon to collect and that is no different for Scarlet and Violet. Sprigatito
Sprigatito is the Grass-type starter at the beginning of Scarlet and Violet. Its main ability is Overgrow and its name comes from the Spanish word for small cat “gatito” and “sprig”, as in a stem bearing leaves or plants.

Fuecoco
Fuecoco’s name comes from the Spanish words for fire and crocodile and is the Fire-type starter in Scarlet and Violet. It’s main ability is Blaze.

Quaxly
Quaxly is the adorable water-type starter in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Its main ability is Torrent and in battle focuses on swiftly and repeatedly kicking its opponents.

Lechonk
Lechonk has already become a meme and is one of the early-game Normal-type Pokémon in both Scarlet and Violet. Its main ability is either Aroma Veil or Gluttony and is used by Nemona.

Pawmi
Pawmi is the Pikachu clone for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and is a pure Electric-type. Each generation has some adorable, rodent-like Electric ‘mon, and Pawmi fits the bill in Generation 9.

Smoliv
Smoliv is a very sweet Pokémon that you will likely encounter early in the game. It is a dual Grass/ Normal-type Pokémon, and its main ability is Early Bird.

Cetitan
Cetitan is one of the brand new Ice-type Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet. It is known as the Terra Whale Pokémon and comes with the Slush Rush or Thick Fat abilities.

Fidough
Fidough might just be the most adorable Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet. This adorable pup made of baked goods is already stealing hearts and will be a must-pick for those that like using Fairy types.

Paldean Wooper
The Padean Wooper is one of the Paldean forms in the new games. They are a poison and grass type with the main ability of either Water Absorb or Poison Point.

Cyclizar
Cyclizar is a fast-running lizard-like Pokémon which has been adopted as the main mode of transport in Paldea, with trainers riding them to get around. Its design suggests it is either a pre-evolution or simply the inspiration for the two box art legendaries, Koraidon and Miraidon.

Grafaiai
Grafaiai is a moody, fastidious Pokémon who roams alone, refusing to form packs. It is based on Aye-aye lemurs, which have an extra long middle finger. It is a Posion/Normal-type.

Klawf
Klawf is a pretty goofy but daunting Rock-type Pokémon that can rotate its protruding eyeballs to see everything around it, eliminating blind spots. It ambushes its prey but gets dizzy easily and its claws can grow back if they’re lost.

Armarouge
Armarouge is exclusive to Pokémon Scarlet and comes with a set of armour that belonged to a distinguished warrior. Using Psychic-type and Fire-type moves it hits with immense power and specialises in damage output. It also comes with a brand new attack called Armor Cannon.

Ceruledge
Ceruledge is an exclusive in Pokémon Violet and is equipped with flaming steel blades. It is the counterpart to Armarouge, and also has a brand new move called Bitter Blade.

Farigiraf
Farigiraf is the new evolution of Girafarig. The small black head that used to be at the rear of Girafarig has now been absorbed and can be worn as a protective hood over Farigiraf’s head.

Bellibolt
Bellibolt is a brand new Electric-type frog Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet which generates electricity in its stomach. But, it is quite passive in that it won’t attack until it has been attacked.

Wiglett
During a fake World Pokémon Ecological Society webinar on September 28, 2022, a new Pokémon – initially believed to be a Paldean form of Diglett – was revealed. However, it was established at the end of the webinar that it is a new ‘mon entirely, and it’s called Wiglett. It’s resemblance is merely an evolutionary coincidence, apparently.

Greavard
With powerful jaws that can shatter bones, Greavard is capable of absorbing the lifeforce around it. Luring them in with its cute, playful nature, Greavard lets out a spooky cry that is sure to startle you.

Gimmighoul
Gimmighoul might be one of the strangest Pokemon designs in recent memory. The Ghost-type has two forms – its roaming form, as you see above, and its chest form, whereby it conceals itself inside a fake treasure chest of gold coins.

Great Tusk
Great Tusk is described as a rare monster that has only been documented by Paldean explorers in the Scarlet Book. It is a version exclusive to Pokémon Scarlet, and appears to be an ancient version of Donphan. Details on its size, type, and more is unknown.
Iron Treads
Iron Treads is the futuristic counterpart to Great Tusk and is exclusive to Pokemon Violet. Again, details about it are unknown, but we do know that explorers wrote about it in the Violet Book. It also is inspired by Donphan.
Koraidon
Koraidon is one of the two legendaries in the new games, appearing in Pokémon Scarlet. Other than the fact it is given to you early in the game to become your ride Pokémon, very little else is known about it.
Miraidon
Miraidon is one of the legendaries in the new games, appearing in Pokémon Scarlet. Like Koraidon, it is given to you early in the game to be your ride Pokémon, but other than that, details are sparse.
