Heroes never die? Well, the Bride of Junkenstein will see about that. The Overwatch 2 Halloween Terror event is back and with it comes a new action-packed PvE co-op mission, some spooky cosmetics, and another free skin – which you can get your hands on via Twitch drops. This comes just weeks after Blizzard confirmed that Overwatch 2 double XP and free skins were coming after a troubled launch for the hero shooter.

Ahead of Overwatch 2’s next update, introducing this year’s Halloween Terror content to the title, Blizzard announced that players will be able to “unlock even more spooky rewards during Halloween Terror by watching [their] favourite streamers on Twitch” – in this blog post here.

From October 25 at 11:00 PST / 14:00 EST / 19:00 BST until November 1 at 11:00 PST / 14:00 EST / 19:00 BST, players will be able to earn a Werewolf Winston spray and the Werewolf Winston legendary skin via Twitch. In order to unlock the spray, players will just need to watch two hours of any Twitch stream in the Overwatch 2 channel.

Similarly, to unlock the Winston skin, players will need to watch a total of four hours of any Twitch stream in the Overwatch 2 channel. These rewards are available on all platforms – you just need to make sure your Twitch account is linked to your Battle Net account, which you can find out more about here.

What makes this Twitch drop somewhat unique is the fact that it’s not actually tied to any specific content creators or streamers, from what we can tell, but rather Overwatch 2 itself. So, theoretically, you could watch a friend stream the hero shooter for a few hours and earn your rewards – or stream it and let your friends watch you play. Of course, there’s likely to be quite a few people streaming Overwatch 2 around the clock – but, there are options there to make the most out of it, if you’re not usually someone who watches Twitch streams.

There’s also three Overwatch 2 double XP weekends coming to the free shooter, the second of which starts on October 28. So, if you’re not thinking about watching Overwatch 2, you should really think about playing it.

If you’re looking for more free cosmetics from Overwatch 2, players will be able to earn things like the Nightfall Over Adlersbrunn name card, the Jack-O-Lantern weapon charm, and other Halloween Terror-themed cosmetics through playing the new LTMs. However, it looks like all the other spooky skins will cost you your Credits – and thus, real money.
