If you’re gearing up to play NBA 2K24 anytime soon, you might want to take a moment to read up on what the latest patch was all about. With the 2022-2023 season well underway, developer Visual Concepts is pushing out a new NBA 2K24 ratings update for players to check out the next time they play – and this one is huge. Just how huge, you might be asking? Well, it’s affecting over 160 players across the league.

After two weeks of exciting action on the court, NBA 2K24 developer Visual Concepts is pushing out a new update that affects over 160 players – a handful of those already boast some of the highest NBA 2K24 ratings available. In an effort to cement itself as one of the best sports games out there right now, this update aims to make sure that the stats of NBA players in-game matches their real-life form. If you want to know what that actually means for you, it means that some of the best NBA 2K24 players just got better.

As you can see on the official NBA 2K24 player ratings page, reigning MVP Joel Embiid and league newcomer Victor Wembanyama headline the ratings update with +1 OVR and +2 OVR respectively. Minnesota Timberwolves forward Anthony Edwards and Atlanta Hawks point guard Dejounte Murray are among those with +2 OVR, too.

Three players, the Atlanta Hawk’s Jalen Johnson, the Detroit Piston’s Jalen Duren, and the Portland Trailblazers’ Shaedon Sharpe are getting a +4 OVR update and Oklahoma City Thunder’s Chet Holgrem is getting a +6 OVR – now 83-rated. Marcus Sasser is also getting a +5 OVR – but that only takes him to 75 OVR. Already high-rated players Luka Doncic, Donovan Mitchell, and Steph Curry are also getting a boost. You will, though, see some changes no matter who you’re playing as – this update affects the whole league and a huge portion of active players.

you’re planning on playing as any team, though, you’re going to notice some changes.

All of this is going to affect your MyCAREER save, and we could very-well see some updated player items available in MyTEAM – although, Visual Concepts hasn’t confirmed that just yet. However, it does seem likely. So, it’s going to be worth checking you’ve claimed the latest NBA 2K24 locker codes, just in case.

Yeah, we did warn you that it was a lot of updates. The ones to look out for are those already in the 90s (Joel Embiid, Damian Lillard, Jimmy Butler, just to name a few) and those with the biggest improvements – all of which we have mentioned above. These will be the players you notice the difference for the most, but those of you who pay attention to the details when playing will want to give the whole list a once-over.

If your favorite player is still lacking and you want to take a break from shooting hoops in 4K, there are plenty more new PS5 games and new Xbox games worth checking out. Although, you may need to look into picking up one of the best Xbox expansion cards or best PS5 SSDs if you do decide to play something else. NBA 2K24 isn’t a small game as it is, and it’s not the only one that will eat up chunks of your internal storage.
