No one can tell a fighting game story like NetherRealm and Mortal Kombat 1, which is its latest example of a fantastic narrative. But, how many Mortal Kombat 1 story chapters are there, and how long does each one take? Thankfully, after spending some time with the game for our upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 review, we know the lengths and how many Mortal Kombat 1 chapters there are.
As you play through the story, you will take control of many of the Mortal Kombat 1 characters as you fight against Shang Tsung. The length of Mortal Kombat 1 is pretty comparable to other NetherRealm campaigns, so you can expect a brief, but action-paced adventure split apart into chapters.

Overall, this is pretty similar to previous Mortal Kombat games as we mentioned above. Mortal Kombat 11 clocked in with 12 chapters, while Mortal Kombat X had 12 too. So, this campaign is a little longer, but it does have to reintroduce a lot of characters and bring back a ton of characters we haven’t seen in a while.
Still, by completing the campaign, you can unlock gear, unlock fatalities in Mortal Kombat 1, and unlock Havik to play as in Mortal Kombat 1.
That covers the Mortal Kombat 1 chapters in the main story. For even more on the game modes, check out our overview of the Mortal Kombat 1 Towers, as well as how you can unlock even more gear beyond what you get in the campaign with our guide to Mortal Kombat 1 Koins you can earn.
