The Midnight Suns have just showed up at the Marvel and Disney Games Showcase and we got a fresh new look at how the card-based tactical gameplay will work. And, the studio announced a brand new launch date for Marvel’s Midnight Suns: December 2, 2022.
This is actually a lot earlier than many of us had thought after the game’s delay. It seemed like the game had been pushed to 2023, but that isn’t the case. However, there is a caveat, the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions of the game won’t release until sometime next year. So, you will have to grab the game on PC, PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.
The trailer is more of a general look at every cog in the Midnight Suns machine, rather than a deep dive like we have seen with each individual character trailers. We get to see the hub and character dialogue options available as you connect more with your squad and some of the more devastating abilities on offer in the tactical combat when out on operations.
The game will also be getting a series of prequel shorts for each of the characters from October 31, 2022.
Midnight Suns still has a fair bit of time to go until release and it has already had a long journey. Revealed last year, the game has been delayed two times, originally setting its date for March this year and then pushing its release date to October.
Just a few months ago, as 2K were unveiling all the Midnight Suns characters, cast and voice actors in detail, the game was suddenly delayed for polish with a new window set for before April 2023.
But with the game now seemingly set for its final release date (hopefully?) we should finally be able to see what Firaxis has been cooking up for all these years.
