With any multiplayer game, crossplay is always at the top of a player’s wishlist. The feature which can’t be ignored anymore is a necessity for these online games to thrive and with Meet Your Maker, Behaviour Interactive’s new IP, that question hangs over its head as it prepares to launch on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
The game is built with multiplayer in mind so not having the feature would severely limit the game’s playerbase, cordoning individuals off so they are only able to play with those on the same platform. It would also cause Meet Your Maker‘s servers to dramatically depopulate shortly after launch.
Does Meet Your Maker have crossplay?
Meet Your Maker does not support crossplay or cross-progression so you can’t play with people on other platforms or carry your progress over. However, the game will allow you to share content you make cross-platform, so you can raid other players’ outposts.
This news was confirmed in an FAQ on the Meet Your Maker website and is disappointing, especially as the game is a part of the PS Plus April 2023 free games. Meet Your Maker is inevitably going to have a big launch with the game arriving on PS Plus on April 4, but without crossplay a lot of people will need to stick around on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC to keep the game’s servers healthy.
We will just have to wait and see how the Meet Your Maker servers hold up without crossplay. But, while you wait for the Meet Your Maker release date to arrive so you can jump in why not check out some of the best PS5 multiplayer games out there right now on the console?
