Located in front of Krat City Hall, the Scrapped Watchman may appear to be similar to the constables you faced on your way here, but that’s not the case. Firstly, he’s much larger, and secondly, he uses electric attacks when he enters phase two. And, if you can believe it, he’s considerably more aggressive. You can certainly see why he was in charge before the frenzy began.
As the first of the Lies of P bosses that may have you truly stumped, regardless of whether you’re on PS5, Xbox, or PC, you might want to know what Lies of P Star Fragments are and how they work to help give yourself an edge in your boss fight with the Scrapped Watchman. You should also consider what Lies of P’s best legion arms are, as these can make a huge difference to how a fight goes.
For a little bit of background on the Scrapped Watchman, he’s a large police constable tasked with defending central Krat but, you guessed it, he’s a puppet. He’s the man that was in charge of the police force in Elysion Boulevard and as with many of the cops in Krat, its citizens were unaware he’s a puppet. As such, they turned to the police for help when the puppet frenzy began, only to be slaughtered by the Scrapped Watcham and his policeman.
How to beat Lies of P Scrapped Watchman boss
The best way to defeat the Scrapped Watchman is to bait attacks and strike during the openings he gives you with combos. Then in the second phase, you want to perform fewer combos and just land a hit or two during the openings as otherwise you will be pummelled by electricity.
Honestly, the first phase is about making the most of openings. If he charges at you, dodge to the left and get one or two hits in on his back. Be careful not to get too greedy, he may turn around and hit you with a non-blockable attack, and if you can’t perform a perfect party, you’re health bar will take a serious hit. Furthermore, if he’s about to do an unblockable attack, it’s a good idea to turn and run as a means of avoidance unless you can perform perfect parries, in which case performing one can increase the parry bar.
The second phase is much of the same, except you need to keep an eye out for blue-white patches on the ground as lighting is about to strike, and if you become inflicted with shock, your stamina regen becomes as slow as a snail. Naturally, the boss also gains electricity damage to his attacks, so if you thought dodging was vital in the first phase, you haven’t seen anything yet.
Should you still be struggling, you always have the option of summoning a Spectre to aid you. In order to do this, you must have a star fragment and make a wish with it at the spectral bird Barth just outside of the boss arena. This is a great move if you’re struggling to deal with the Watchman’s aggression, as he tends to target the Scrapped. However, you may want to take the aggro yourself from time to time as Specters don’t have a great deal of health, and if they fall too early in the fight, you’re not better off than you would have been going into the fight on your own.
