The heat is on for the League of Legends World Championship, as Riot Games announces the LoL Worlds 2024 finals are heading to London.

LoL Worlds 2024 final location

The 2023 League of Legends World Championship has yet to reach its thrilling conclusion, but developer Riot Games has already set its sights on next year’s tournament. As the next installment of the most watched esports events out there, the LoL Worlds 2024 finals location is a hot topic, and for LoL Worlds 2024 Riot is set to hop across the pond. It’s coming home – if you’re English, at least.

Ahead of the LoL Worlds 2023 finals at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, Riot Games has announced that “the 2024 League of Legends World Championship finals are destined for London. Scheduled to be hosted at The O2, the world’s most popular live entertainment, leisure, and retail destination, the culmination of the world’s largest esports event will arrive in London in the fall of 2024.” Yes, LoL Worlds 2024 is coming home to the land of The Loadout. Specifically, the LoL Worlds 2024 final will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024.

Situated two hours away from another iconic venue, Wembley Stadium, The O2’s capacity can house up to 20,000 attendees. Legendary musicians and artists like U2, Beyoncé, and Foo Fighters have all played there, and that level of energy is set to continue for one of the best MOBA games around. A date for ticket sales is yet to be confirmed, alongside other “dates, cities, and venues for [LoL] Worlds 2024.”

Before tickets do go on sale, though, you can actually see which are the ideal places to get the best view in The O2. By heading over to Seating Plan, you can see user reviews of each area of the venue, which often note Block 113 as a reliable vantage point. Speculatively, as this is an O2 venue, you may be able to get tickets through the O2 Priority mobile app if you’re a UK attendee. You’ll also need to be on the O2 Network, so it might be time to politely ask a friend if you can use their app.

Speaking on LoL Worlds 2024 utilizing the venue, global head of LoL esports Naz Aletaha expresses that “we’re thrilled to bring the World Final to the UK for the first time. Worlds is a global celebration of the best of League of Legends, and London’s rich history and modern metropolis is a perfect backdrop for the biggest stage in our sport.”

Furthermore, in tandem with the passion from the game’s United Kingdom-based fandom, Aletaha says “we’re eager to welcome them to the O2 where our finalists will take the same stage as the many icons who preceded them.” Prior to this, the last time LoL Worlds visited the UK was for the Quarterfinals in 2015, which were hosted at the OVO Arena Wembley (formerly known as the SSE Arena).

But who will emerge as the victors this time around? LoL Worlds 2022 was won by DRX, following EDward Gaming and DAMWON Gaming in 2021 and 2020 respectively. We’re still yet to see anyone replicate the success of LoL esports goliath T1 which has taken the top spot at LoL Worlds three times in 2013, 2015, and 2016, with a prospective fourth title on the line in the LoL Worlds 2023 final against Weibo Gaming.
