Riot Games has finally revealed the K’Sante Lil Nas X skin the pop music star has helped design as part of his continued ‘takeover’ of League of Legends.
The K’Sante Prestige Empyrean skin is a stark contrast to the rest of the dazzling, futuristic Empyrean skin line that was announced on October 17. Taking on a purple and gold colour scheme that extends to K’Sante’s ntofo melee weapons, the skin will be available on the PBE immediately and can be obtained fully in League of Legends from November 3. This is the same day as the K’Sante release date and a couple of days before the final of LoL Worlds 2022 (where Lil Nas X will also be performing this year’s Worlds anthem).
Talking about the collaboration with Lil Nas X on this K’Sante Prestige skin, Riot’s Thomas Randby – who was also involved in the project – says that the Prestige line’s general influences of high-fashion and luxury made Lil Nas X the ideal person to work with.
Randby also says that it feels more unique than other “corporate” collaborations we’ve seen in LoL in the past, and hopes more notable artists come to work with Riot on collabs like this one.
“We’re definitely very excited by the potential of future collaborations, [and we want to be] coming at them from the angle of what best suits the product and the player experience and making sure that they sort of form organically,” he says during a Q+A session with the media.
Unlike other Prestige skins, the K’Sante Prestige Empyrean skin will not be directly purchasable – instead, it can be obtained with Worlds Tokens that will be earned by playing both League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics during the LoL Worlds 2022 event.
After the skin goes live on November 3, you’ll have until November 14 to obtain it.
