One of 2021’s most exciting PS5 exclusives could be making the move over to Xbox. A Kena Bridge of Spirits Xbox version – its deluxe edition, more specifically – has received a rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board, and we couldn’t be more excited to see Ember Lab’s maiden game make the move.
It should come as no surprise that the Kena Xbox Series X|S port has been branded ‘T for Teen’ by the ESRB, considering its PlayStation counterpart received the very same rating when it was released back in September 2021. What transpired to be one of the year’s best games, Kena came as a big, wholesome surprise to many.
Kena Bridge of Spirits follows the titular character as she looks to guide the spirits of the deceased from the material world to the spiritual one. Kena’s gorgeous world can be an unforgiving one for the young spirit guide, but she’s not alone thanks to the blob-like Rot spirits that accompany her on her journey. The Rot can be upgraded, adding powerful new abilities to Kena’s arsenal – a necessity when frantically fighting the corruption that threatens her home.

It’s certainly a pleasant surprise to see one of the many PS5 exclusives (be it timed or otherwise) head over to Xbox for once, considering all the chatter we’ve had this year surrounding Xbox exclusives like Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves being exported to other platforms. Sporting a mighty score of 81 on Metacritic, Kena: Bridge of Spirits will be an absolute treat on Microsoft’s consoles, and it’d fit right in with the list of Xbox Game Pass games should the service announce it.
Having been out for over two-and-a-half years now, you’ll have to play catch up if you’re Team Xbox. Fortunately, there’s already a slew of content out there for you to digest ahead of Kena’s move to greener pastures. Aside from our Kena guides, make sure you read up on how Studio Ghibli inspired the adorable balls of Rot. As another highlight from our chat with Ember Lab back in 2021, peep their reaction to the impressive uptake of its dedicated photo mode – you’ll definitely want to make liberal use of it as you play.
