The Honkai Star Rail 2.2 banners have finally been fully revealed. During the new HSR livestream, Robin was confirmed to be taking to the stage in the upcoming version of the space fantasy RPG, despite her fate in the PS5 game’s narrative still being very much up in the air. Robin isn’t the only new limited five-star character either, as Boothill will also be riding on into Penacony.
In the first phase of Honkai Star Rail 2.2, you’ll be able to roll your Stellar Jade away on either Robin or Topaz, who are joined by four-star characters March 7th, Hanya, and Xueyi. Robin’s inclusion as a playable character is certainly an interesting one, seeing as she’s currently dead in the RPG game – at least, we’re being led to believe she is.
Indeed, the Halovian superstar could very well sing again, as she only experienced a ‘spiritual’ death – the same fate that supposedly befell Firefly in that soul-destroying 2.0 cutscene. At the end of 2.1, it was revealed that not only is Firefly alive and well, but she’s also the Stellaron Hunter Sam. As such, there’s hope for Robin yet, as slim as it may be.
The inclusion of Topaz on the banner is a painful one for follow-up attack team chasers. Seeing as we’ve just had Aventurine, HoYo is certainly making us pull up our bootstraps and pray for the best seeing as both Robin and Topaz look to be core components of the best FUA team going forward – at least judging from current leaks. With the freshly-revealed Jade also touted as a follow-up character, wallets are going to be raided over the coming weeks and months.
Speaking of bootstraps, yeehaw Galaxy Ranger Boothill is moseying down to Penacony alongside Fu Xuan in phase two. The pair will be accompanied by four-star options Pela, Luka, and Hook.
“Aside from being a Galaxy Ranger, Boothill is also a wild and unpredictable interstellar cowboy – a regular on the IPC’s most wanted list,” hooty host Owlbert states during the livestream. “There’s talk that he also helped resolve several serious incidents.” It sounds like we have another morally ambiguous character on our hands – my favorite kind.
Fu Xuan making her return to the space game is certainly a massive win for those who miss out on Aventurine. Though the IPC’s suave gambler will serve you better in FUA comps, Fu Xuan is an incredible Preservation character that has consistently featured in endgame content. In fact, she’s currently the most-used sustainer in Memory of Chaos (thanks, Prydwen).
With two stacked HSR banners placed before us, I am left quaking in my boots. Building the ultimate FUA team could quickly turn into an expensive pursuit if the FOMO takes hold, while I’ve been dying to get Fu Xuan since she arrived last September. I wonder how much a kidney goes for nowadays…
