To solve the numbered doors puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy, you must add up the sum of the numbers the pictures represent to give you the answer in the middle.
The numbered door puzzle solutions are worked out using the following picture values:
- 0= Demiguise
- 1 = Unicorn
- 2 = Kelpie
- 3 = Hydra
- 4 = Fwooper
- 5 = Quintaped
- 6 = Moke
- 7 = Marmite
- 8 = Acromantula
- 9 = Giant Squid
Opening these doors will reward you with new gear, such as clothing pieces or wand handles.
There will be one large number at the centre of the door, this is the ‘answer’ to the sum. Surrounding this number will be three smaller numbers, though one will be unknown, that should add up to create the answer. You’ll have to fill in the unknown number using the large dice in the walls beside the door, with each symbol representing a different value. For instance, the unicorn symbol is worth one, while the spider is worth eight.
While each door you come across will have a different sum for you to work out, they’ll all use these values so you can reference this guide each time.

Hogwarts Legacy has drawn considerable criticism during its development, largely due to the fact that the creator of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling, has made a number of transphobic remarks on social media in recent years.
While Avalanche has confirmed that J.K. Rowling is not “directly involved” in the development of Hogwarts Legacy, it is working with “her team” and Portkey Games, a Warner Bros. label dedicated to launching new experiences inspired by J.K. Rowling’s original stories. It is currently unclear whether she will earn any royalties from the game’s sale, but it is likely given it is based on her original body of work.
