Hogwarts Legacy is a delight for Harry Potter fans; there’s so much detail in every environment and you really are pulled into the fantasy of being a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, at least for a while. One area Potterheads will want to explore when they jump into this game is their House’s common room. However, you are only permitted access to your character’s common room in-game – a Slytherin student isn’t going to know the password to the Gryffindor common room. But, that doesn’t necessarily mean you need to start four separate save games if you want to explore all four common rooms. Fans have found a Hogwarts Legacy glitch you can use to access these areas and explore all the common rooms from one save game – and it isn’t too hard to recreate.
We know asking whether you can enter other House’s common rooms in Hogwarts Legacy isn’t quite as important as asking something about the best Hogwarts Legacy spells or asking “is Hogwarts Legacy multiplayer“, but it’s still an important one if you want to make the most of your game. If you’re not opposed to taking advantage of a Hogwarts Legacy glitch or two, content creator ‘TashaPlays‘ has found a way for you to do just that – and all you need is your broomstick.
As you can see for yourself below, you need to start in Irondale – a settlement in the Feldcroft region of the Hogwarts Legacy map – if you want to exploit this glitch.
Once you’ve found Irondale, all you need to do is find the house with the hanging cloth and walk into it until you fall through the floor. From here, you can summon your broom and make your way over to Hogwarts Castle – each one has a gap you can get through to enter each House’s common room. Once you’re in, you’ll find all the interactable items and NPCs you would find usually; so, it really is a great way to save time on creating a whole new save game if you just want to have a peek of what each one is like.

Finding each common room can be a little tricky when you’re under the map – but it’s really not that hard to take advantage of this exploit. It’s important to note that this has been found on the PC version of Hogwarts Legacy; we don’t know if this is available on the console version yet. It’s also something we can imagine Avalanche Software will want to patch soon. So, you might want to take a look at it sooner rather than later.
This Hogwarts Legacy glitch isn’t just good for getting into common rooms, you should also be able to use it to access certain quest-locked or Alohomora-locked areas too – should you be able to find them when you’re out of bounds.
This might help you find a few more Hogwarts Legacy Demiguise statues, but you can find enough of those to satiate Gladwin Moon without an exploit. We also recommend having the best Hogwarts Legacy broom before you try this out – flying from Irondale can take a little while.
