New PS Store sale slashes PS5 newbie Hi-Fi Rush by 30%

The new PS Store sale is filled to the brim with bargains, and new kid on the PS5 block Hi-Fi Rush has been spotted with a big ol’ reduction.

A new PS Store sale has cropped up, offering up to 75% off some of the best games to grace the PS4 and PS5 from now until 11:59 pm PST/EST/BST on Wednesday, May 8. Though it only arrived on Sony’s latest and greatest hardware last month, Bethesda’s beat-filled banger Hi-Fi Rush has also made the cut – a 30% cut, to be precise.

That’s right, one of the most exciting new PS5 games to hit the platform has already copped a sizable saving. Right now you can snag the standard edition of the rhythm-based action game for just $20.99, down from $29.99. What was once solely one of the best Xbox games, and is now one of the best PS5 games, too, Hi-Fi Rush follows wannabe rockstar Chai as he and his homies take on the evil megacorp Vandelay.

In our 9/10 Hi-Fi Rush review, we deemed that Chai’s rock-and-roll adventure is “one that deserves every ounce of praise it gets. From the lovable cast, to the incredible gameplay, Hi-Fi Rush is the ultimate hack-and-slash-rhythm game that every Xbox [and now PS5] owner must play.”

Hi-Fi Rush has made the headlines multiple times throughout 2024, serving as one of the poster children for Microsoft’s big plan to make more of its Xbox exclusives multi-platform. Back in January, we reported on rumors that Chai would be getting his big PS5 debut – something that was confirmed a month later. On March 19, Hi-Fi Rush entered the PS Store catalog, potentially paving the way for future crossovers down the line.

Of course, Hi-Fi Rush isn’t the only Xbox first-party title leading the multi-platform charge. Pentiment – also included in the May Savings sale – was the first to cross the floor in February, while Grounded burrowed its way onto PlayStation earlier this month. Sea of Thieves – the final title to be confirmed in February’s Xbox business update – is soon to set sail at the end of April, having just celebrated passing the 40 million player mark.
