When hordes of Helldiver-hungry bugs or armies of unflinching automatons are breathing down your neck, Helldivers 2 can be a surprisingly challenging game – though no one said that spreading Managed Democracy would be easy. However, a recent Helldivers 2 Stratagem glitch caused treacherous Helldivers to exploit the game, calling in infinite nukes, turrets, and more. Well, you can say goodbye to the infinite Stratagem glitch as a new Helldivers 2 update squashes it like a Terminid on PS5.
The latest Helldivers 2 update patch notes are in and they bring with them a handful of great fixes to one of the best co-op games on PS5. Arguably the most important fix, however, is that the unlimited Stratagem glitch is now patched. Given how game-breaking this exploit was – especially solo – it was remarkably easy to trigger. In fact, you just had to stop playing – though stepping away from one of the best games of 2024 so far is easier said than done.
By going AFK in your ship and getting kicked for inactivity, logging back in and starting a mission would see you spawn with no ammo, guns, or grenades – but infinite Stratagems. While some players came across this glitch by accident, many were triggering it intentionally to abuse the powerful Stratagems and make the hardest difficulty missions a walk in the park.
The full Helldivers 2 patch notes for 1.000.13 include:
- Improved: login speed and error messages on PS5
- Improved: support for AZERTY keyboards by allowing the Ship HUD shortcuts to be rebound
- Fixed: Super Credits not showing up after purchase or collection
- Fixed: Premium Warbond not being accessible after purchase
- Fixed: crash which could occur when a player changed their rank or title
- Fixed: missing text in HUD for Acquisitions and Social menus
- Fixed: crash which could occur while browsing missions.
- Fixed: unlimited stratagem use glitch which occurred after an AFK kick
- Fixed: missing equipment issues after an AFK kick
- Fixed: purple question marks appearing after an AFK kick
In other words, the new PS5 game is better than ever – though we can never say it’s truly bug-free with all the Terminid running around.
There are also some important known issues that “were either introduced by this patch and are being worked on, or are from a previous version and have not yet been fixed”. Most notably, this includes broken armor values which has made light armor the only sensible option since launch.
The full list of known issues is as follows:
- New Personal Orders are not showing.
- Login rate limiting when many are logging in at the same time.
- Players can become disconnected during play.
- Rewards and other progress may be delayed or not attributed.
- Various UI issues may appear when the game interacts with servers.
- Pick-up of certain objects in-game may cause characters to freeze in place for an extended period of time.
- Some games would not be joinable by others for a short period of time during heavy load.
- Other unknown behaviors may occur.
- Japanese VO is missing from intro cutscene and Ship TV.
- Armor values for light/medium/heavy armor do not currently function as intended.
With Helldivers 2 updates coming thick and fast to improve server issues and other bugs, developer Arrowhead Game Studios is beginning to look ahead to future content. Following recent datamining, it appears that Helldivers 2 vehicles are among the upcoming additions. We’ve also recently learned about cut content that allowed for more stealthy options and Helldivers 2’s rumored third faction – the Illuminate. With Helldivers 2’s unique storytelling, these new additions will no doubt result in some epic and incredibly memorable moments for us all.
